The SHOT show wasn’t the only activity of note last week (and more to come on that), our superheroes in the DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) chapter hit up the Virginia State Capitol again.

“Quick report from the LGC VA lobby day. Thank you very much to PT Jones of the Strong Arms chapter of NAAGA for joining us. We met with representatives from Del. Rasoul’s office, Del. Seibold’s office, Del. Tran’s office, Del. Filler-Corn’s office, Del. Guzman’s office, and then met with Rep. Andersen’s staff and AC Cardoza. We handed out many LGC Brochures (Thank you Again Lara!). We handed a brochure to Rep. Reid on the way out and had a good conversation with him. We think we have a way forward on getting HB 1422. It will require working with some Republicans in House leadership as they control the chamber. Showing pictures of the SHOT show booth helped establish common ground with many Democratic staffers and some expressed interest in taking our firearms classes.”

HB 1422 is a bill that if amended will add LGC and NAAGA to the list of approved Firearms safety classes, and we are pretty excited about it. More work to do, but that’s always the case!
