A serious threat to Obama, or the Teabagger flavor-of-the-month?

If Cain was pro-choice, Obama would be done.

Once he brings out his true crazy, you can stick a fork in him.

I think he's the one to watch on the repub side.

But he's full of that typical magical republican thinking, believes that it's okay not to have a plan to get from A to D because points B and C will take care of themselves.

Definitely "Tea Bagger Nut of the Month", he has limited traction. The only Republican I'd worry about is Jon Huntsman, but at this time he's too moderate to appeal to the freaks who dominate the publicans. If Huntsman was a Demo he'd be a viable Western Demo candidate, maybe in 2016.

Cain won't get very far because the core tea baggers are racists.

Plus there's a lot of dirt on him as CEO of Godfather's Pizza--layoffs, golden parachutes, etc..

If we play pretend that he could win the GOP nomination, eventually he gets to a general election where his "Obama couldn't even run a pizza joint" spiel turns into "Herman Cain hasn't really done squat except run a pizza joint". There are a lot of things that just don't come up in running a pizza parlor, like making the call to invade Pakistan and shoot bin Laden in the face and dump his body into the sea while smiling and joking with your domestic political opponents.

This reminds me of that moment in West Wing where bartlett called his re-election opponent "A 22 caliber mind in a 357 magnum world" on camera.

But that whole "successful businessman" shtick is going to work for at least some time, out in republican-land.
