So sorry for your sister and you. My good friend's father died this morning and when I called my friend later today, there was this calm in his voice and he was telling me that it was very hard to watch his father yesterday in the hospital suffering and that now he's at peace. Death is something that awaits all of us, sooner or later and all I ever wish is to go quick, if possible while asleep. Stay strong my friend.

Hey Irish,

I am sorry to hear about your sister's condition and the pain it is causing you all. Be sure to tell her how special she is. Take care of yourself.

the worst part of the whole event for the people who are witnessing such a thing, in my experience, is the feeling of helplessness. You wish to hell that you could do something, anything, to change what you see happening and what you know is coming - but you can't. Cancer is a son of a bitch. Enjoy your sister's company while you can, as you have noticed things go downhill fast. And take care of you.

Terminal illness is hard on family members, we like to think the special people in our lives will be around forever. Don't neglect you own mental health time, you have to keep up you spirits. A drop or two of Jamesons, Tullamore, Bushmills or your favorite brew; some time on the range; or any other diversions help to recharge.
