Xela, membership in the organization is not a requirement for use of the forum. Personally I hope it stays that way for a few reasons. For one, it allows non-members like you to have a dialog with the membership at large, including the Director (Mark), whether they agree or not. Some of these people may just be feeling out the organization too, trying to figure out if they wish to join, and I'm cool with that. It also means that we hopefully don't end up with erroneous numbers due to people like chiker and projector registering just because they want to stir things up on the forum.
I'm a proud member of this organization because I agree more with this group than with any other I've come across, and I like the people too. I also have Faaar fewer points of contention with the LGC than I do with the other large firearms education/rights/political groups out there. I don't see that one position as the end of the world, and frankly, I don't see it being adopted by any level of government any time soon. In fact, I am hoping that by the time the LGC is big enough to have any real political sway, that the capacity issue will be dead and that this particular position will have become redundant, and will be removed.
On the other hand, people tend to flock to organizations that have good numbers (they don't want to feel alone in their pursuits), and the more members we have, the more we can point to that and gain more clout in the long run. I would love to see the LGC as a large national organization providing education to shooters of all ages, income levels, ethnicities, etc. and I will do what I can to help the group achieve this goal.

Whatever...May I encourage you to join? I have always respected your comments whether I am in agreement or not...it's not like many of us agree on much anyway...
