First fish

A lovely day yesterday hanging out at my Dads cottage in NW Indiana & I grabbed the first largemouth of the season. This isn't a HUGE fish, but it's a decent one for this particular lake.

My wife snapped a particularly nice photo right at sunset so I thought I'd share.

Doh!

Can you tell I'm not a fisherman?

All I know is: Once prey is on my hands...

I could use a hunter's course, and a fisherman's course.

I keep the small ones to eat, they taste great. I release the big ones to propagate, they taste well not bad but not as good and they are the big reproducers. Bass are fun.

Congrats.

No bass for us yet but I did take the kids to a small lake I know of when we were down in Florida last week. In 10 minutes we had 5 bluegill. Decent size too. I thought the littlest one was going to piss himself he was so excited. No pics though. :(
