Personally, I hope it gets legalized, regulated and taxed. Here in Denver, we have seen an explosion of Medical marijuana dispensaries in the past 2 years, and the tax figures are beginning to show how huge the revenue stream can be. Currently the State Legislature is debating the legal limits a person driving a car can have in their blood, the first level, 5 nanograms, was shot down because it was too low. Also, a person who gets baked on Tuesday will still have THC in his blood on Friday, but will not be under the influence. Someday someone will figure out a test to determine how high a driver is. Maybe see how many Cheetos they can eat, or how often they say the word "Duuuuuuuuude". Legalize it, tax it, pay off our debt and let us decide for ourselves if we want to smoke it. Just mellow out duuuuuuudes.

The only! problem I have with this is contact high. I can sit in a bar all day and drink a coke while everyone else drinks the same for this can not be said.

I've never gotten high being around other people smoking dope, also I've never flunked a urine test and have been tested regularly since 84. In 84 when the rail road industry decided to start random testing a saliva test was considered because it only showed intoxication and a user would be safe after 8 to 10 hours but the industry was inspired by reagon and decided to dictate to their employees what the could do on their own time.

Nothing about prohibition makes any sense, except to those making money on it. Removing prohibition will immediately put the drug cartels out of business.

While I gave up the recreational use back in 1971, I found marijuana very effective during chemotherapy. Fortunately I live in a state that is quite supportive in that regard.

Yup, legalize it and watch the drug cartels disappear. Tax it and watch a richer infrastructure and a lesser debt. I also think kids reverting to huffing paint fumes, snorting what they think is cocaine and poping who knows what kind of pills because weed is illegal and not as easy to hide, would stop all that shit and make habbit of smoking natures finest. It's not for everyone, but either is bottled water.

Yeah, I recently had to get tested, and was worried about second hand smoke. I learned that the tests these days take that into account, and so the levels are adjusted if you claim to have been around it. I would say smoking it in public would have to be regulated just like cigarette smoking. If you're lucky enough to live in place that bans smoking in public places, then you won't need to worry about it.

Try sitting in a meeting with abunch of Afghans. You'll be flying hiiiiiiiiiigh by the time you come out. Thankfully we got exemption from being tested while working with them, otherwise Article 15s would've been dropping like confetti, not to mention the oil that seeps out of their different crops, through your clothes, and into your skin. We'd rotate our guards every couple hours or so depending on whether an Afghan was with them. Nothing like coming out of a guard tower bleary eyed with cheetos on your armor.

Legalize it so we can use it for everything from paper to plastics and help stop cutting down trees and using crude oil. If people want to toke up, I've got no issue with that, the other benefits far out weigh any supposed negatives of people getting high.

While I stopped paying my NORML dues back about fifteen years ago (got married, she's a resident alien from Canada) I am a full supporter of medical ganja. I have no issue with folks smoking up as long as they are sober when they drive and can support themselves; wake-n-bake has a place and it's called College. ;)

The war on Drugs needs to stop. It's a massive drain on our economy. We have folks in prison who should be on a factory floor, supporting society as opposed to being a drain on it. With the Gunwalker scandal heating up, it shows that our government is _so_ not the group that needs to be 'fighting' this war. At least if Marijuana was declasified as a narcotic (it ISN'T ONE!) and was reclassified as Tobacco (even though it's not that either...) things can be turned around quite a bit.

I quit when my daughter was born, but the idea that it's illegal in the first place is ridiculous. The economic benefits alone should warrant legalization.

most of my points have been made here already. so i'll jus say this. i support full legalization, and I've never toked, and never will. I just think it's criminal for the govenment to tell you what you can do with your own body on your own time as long as you aren't messing with anyone else.

Yup. It sure would solve alot of problems while i can't think of one it would create. Those who want to smoke it don't seem to have any trouble finding it - that would indicate that prohibition is futile.

Don't forget all the incidental purchases made by the runners here in the states. Gas isn't cheap and the stuff doesn't teleport from Miami to the streets of Wichita. Food for the transporters plus wages high enough to support them. vehicles, maintenance, other overhead costs for goods and services. Lawyers on retainer. All sorts of things go into this industry.

If the grow is stateside, every penny stays here and is economic gold for domestic employment. So once again the motto is:

Phillip-Morris' "Mary Jane" cigarettes would ahve a very hard time competing with BC Hydro. ;)

Then again, the replacement for Joe Camel is pretty darned attractive (the lady on the Camel signs). I'm sure that Liggett Group will have no problem with getting their planned marketing runs moving.

Really, to complete my happiness here in MO, all that needs to happen are three things: no more assaults on the assumed rights of resident aliens, civil unions and legalization for medical or general use. To add domestic harmony in my house, repeal of the Rule of Husbands would be nice, too. For those who don't know, it's not possible for a wife to charge her husband with rape in Missouri. Galls my wife, need that changed. ;)

Betcha if the wives all confronted their husbands with strap-ons and demanded their equal opportunity marital dues, shit would happen.

is that a literal or figurative "shit would happen"?
