Geez even illinois allows full tint now v

California does not allow full tint. You can get it dark, get a note from an eye doctor and be okay, but it is still hit and miss.

It sucks when police catch us for infractions, but it would be a different story if the tint had caused a traffic stop where a car full of gang members were looking to do a drive-by and were prevented from doing so and taken off the street.

Sorry about the hassle Son. I have no great love for police, but they have a tough job. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

There are some jurisdictions that actually carry light meters to measure tint and have no problem handing out tickets for exceeding their limitations regardless of where the car is registered.

In others, cops will order everyone out of a car they can't see into - can't really fault them for that - which, if it's loaded with neo-nazi types or some such, who gives a shit...hope it's during golf ball sized hail...but if it's pouring down rain and it's a mom with infant child...not really great PR, you know what I mean...?

Here in the land of the cancerous rays we can have up to 35% on front driver & pass window. Nothing on the front below the 6" mark at the top. The rest can be painted out. You can't get your car to pass inspection if you're outside the rules. I think they can fine shops that go overboard w/the limo blackout.

I'm for the cops to be able to see and it gives me the willies when I stop next to a car with black out glass all around.

I told the bacon when he asked for my lisence we just bought the car, it's from Florida and I wasn't aware of tint laws, I can change it if I must and he went back to his fuzz bubble and wrote me a ticket, not a warning, anyway. I was even courteous enough to offer my CCW with my lisence and he took my firearm with him too. When he returned I told him I'm surprised this isn't just a warning and he said, "I'm not a warning kind of guy". I was then able to refrain from saying any of the things that came to my mind at that moment, he gave me my gun back and said have a nice day. I told him the same and we were out of there. I'm blowing off steam because I can think of a few things I think he could be doing other than harrassing tax payers and such as get a fuckin life, but I do understand the consiquence of negligence. Anyway, rant off!!

My brother is a retired cop but I still lose my temper with some of the crap they do so I make sure I get my moneys worth when they give me a ticket. Rule number one is to not take it when they hand it to you. Let them stand there while you vent. There are lines you can't cross but up to a point you can go at em full throttle.

I'd like to think those lines are visible. I know cops don't see lines and have the power to do as they wish. Being a wise-ass has gotten me in trouble before. I'd rather keep my cool and bitch about it later. Besides, not all cops are bad. God Damn it hurt to say that. But really I don't think cops are bad, just got their own identity. If I were a cop I must admit I'd be my own me and in my own way, I wouldn't arrest anyone. Id race the speeders, take samples from the pot-heads, totally fuck with the drunks and shoot everybody else. I respect the responsibility and the risk, not the individual. I'm good friends with the cops in my hood which is against all odds and a chance for me to get to know and get a feel for what I've been afraid of pretty much all my life till I finally quit fucking around, smoking weed, drinking like a fish and being completely irresponsible. Now that I'm a respectable man  and have a family to take care of, well you know the rest.

My problem began when someone broke into my truck and stole my work tools. I called the cops and they refused to come over here. I couldn't believe it. I bitched for 20 minutes and she said all they would do is take a report over the phone. But those same fuckers park down the street in a parking lot with all the time in the world to give me a ticket if I'm ever in a hurry to get somewhere. Sorry fuckers.

What do Cops and Teachers have in common? Nothing, but one want's to be a teacher and the other wants summers off.

I should not have made fun of cops and teachers. They are a service and neccessety. Without them we'd be in a shoot'em-up slang-talkin ingnorant land of disarray. It's not easy to admit I bring out the best in them. My luck stinks combined with my big mouth gets the most attention. The particular cop that got me for the tint is probably one of those "I was picked on" kids. Or maybe it's just that time of month "quota". But then again, while I was waiting there on the side of the road, 15 drug dealers drove by and waved silently.
