MO Tornado Disaster--GOP says "We would LOVE to help--except

Except before we do, any money set aside for disaster relief has to first be 'cut out' of the federal budget elsewhere. No reason a little tornado should interrupt the tea-party plans for budget cutting now? Right? :x

It’s hard to believe, but House Republicans aren’t sure if they’re prepared to spend the money to assist the victims and community.

The No. 2 House Republican said that if Congress doles out additional money to assist in the aftermath of natural disasters across the country, the spending may need to be offset.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said “if there is support for a supplemental, it would be accompanied by support for having pay-fors to that supplemental.”
Now that's compassionate.

The problem with arrogance is that the arrogant person doesn't see their flaw. Republicans display their arrogance with overreach. They always end up going too far. Democratic arrogance is usually characterized by complacence. They just seem to stop trying, and rely on the bureaucracy. Both are destructive, but as has been said, Republicans just tend to have a cruel streak in their psyche.

So much for any quote from their Christ. Compassion is a liberal weakness, and it doesn't make fiscal sense when you're only goal is to make the businesses you serve more profitable. Populations who are comfortable and generally live well get uppity. Can't have that.
