Serious question

I got a dpms adjustable stock from midway. It said it came with a buffer but it did not show up with one. I called and they said send it back and they would send a new one.

It will cost more in shipping to them than just buying a separate buffer. Or some things I saw said my upper came with a buffer that arrives Monday. Should I return the stock? Order buffer? Or wait and see if upper has buffer?

I'd wait and see before expending any more funds.

I would wait until Monday for the upper. There isn't much that can happen between now and Monday anyway unless DPMS said they would overnight to you. I would contact Midway and ask them to send a new stock prior to you sending the defective stock back and see what they say.

Why don't they just send you the missing buffer? And a key chain...

As I recall, the stock I ordered and the buffer/spring I got from midway were not a packaged unit in the shipping box. The stock was wrapped in a sheet of packing paper and a plastic bag containing the buffer/spring was in a different sheet of packing paper. The impression I got was they are in separate order-pick slots in the warehouse. If I had ordered more things to the point of having multiple boxes, I would not have been surprised to see stock in one box and buffer/spring in the other.

Oh yeah, the gas tube for my pistol was in one box (with a bunch of stuff) but the gas tube roll pin was in a separate box (with a bunch of other stuff).

Wait until you've received all of the individual shipments that make up your single order before determining that they've failed to include something.

No notice of multiple shipments only one box with the parts kit and packaged stock.

I don't get it. Then what's this?

Ah, I see now. :nugget:

Give it till your upper comes to know what sort of angry email to write imo.
If your upper comes with a buffer, then send the dissatisfied customer email wanting the credit for the buffer you paid for but didn't receive. Mention that because of the upper, you're not missing critical parts. Give them the link to the upper you got, so they can get an up-close and personal eyeball on the sale they didn't make, and can see that the upper does indeed come with a buffer. Better to get a credit applied to either your card or to the midway account than be sent a buffer that you really don't need.

If the upper is buffer-less, write the angry email about how outrageous it is for their mistake to cause you additional shipping charges to send the whole stock back. They should send the buffer that should have been included, it's a piddly amount of shipping, a buffer alone can go in an envelope while the whole stock requires a box.

If it were me, that's roughly what my plan would be.

I sent midway an email asking why I had to send mine back and why can't they just send another?

I just got called by them that they would just send me a DPMS buffer.

That is customer service. Even with their constAnt NRA shilling.
