I still.refer to Senator Casey as "Senator Not-Santorum". Casey was and is an empty suit. We knew it when we elected him. Thats just how much PA hates Santorum.

Let’s say just for argument sake that torture did give us Bin Laden. If it did, then I don’t want Bin Laden. Al Queda is a VERY SMALL threat. They can’t kill thousands of Americans. They can’t threaten our nation. They can’t defeat us. At best they can be a real pain in the ass. But they don’t possess the ability to be a true threat like a nation state. They are a band of terrorists; that’s it.
I’m not willing to give up all that America stands for to get Bin Laden. If it’s a choice between torture and Bin Laden, then I would hope Bin Laden lives a long happy life. Now if we can get the SOB while still keeping America on the moral high ground, then let’s get the SOB.
If it took torture to do it, then Bin Laden won.

OBL's goal (outside of killing, mostly muslims) was to attempt to bankrupt the US through an overseer he'd defense policy, a la the former USSR.
