As Inquisitor stated, don't even think about buying a handgun until you have an LTC. If you're talking about a Ruger LCP, you can get away with a Class B as it's not a high capacity, but it'll need to be on both the State Approved Roster and the Attorney General's Roster. DO NOT BUY A HANDGUN OUT OF STATE! You need to have it shipped to a Mass FFL to purchase a handgun out of state, and the FFL can only transfer it to you if it's on both the above rosters. If you buy from another Massachusetts resident, they will need to fill out an FA-10 form http://www.mass.gov/Eeops/docs/chsb/firearms/FA10.pdf and you will still need to have an LTC.
Good luck getting a carry permit in Boston. From all I've heard it is impossible. I am licensed in Somerville, and by a strange twist of fate it was pretty easy to get my CCW. You can probably get a class B and get a revolver or a shotgun for your home, but I'd recommend pepper spray for carrying around. You still need a license for that but all you have to do to get it is go to your local police station and ask (AFAIK).
And to the person who wants photos I don't think so. You could not afford it honey
A couple guys just lost their significant others, one of them might have some severance pay

Hey, she sounds just like me and I just got my grant and loan funding approved for a return to finish my audio engineering degree
Then again, I was actually suspended at a theater I worked at for using the word "dumbfuck" towards a stagehand. I mean, he was a stagehand, and he was being a dumb fuck. What *am* I supposed to call him? Even if he called his local rep, he'd tell the stagehand to stop being such a pussy.

I think you still need a class A for any automatic, since it can be "made to accept" more rounds.
Any non tubular magazine fed weapon. And a class b wouldn't let you carry it.

A buddy of mine has a 1911A1 with a class B. He brought it from out of state, went to the police station in his town, they asked what he had and said a class B was sufficient.

Interesting. I expect they were wrong, but now I need to look it up.
Class b is mostly worthless

Wow, tough crowd.
Is it true that once you're burned by a female impersonator you'll always be this suspicious?

Yeah, I've never had the "Crying Game" experience myself. Sheltered life, I guess.

Just too good to be true - a liberal young stripper with a gun fetish? C'mon...

There were definitely some red flags. I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but I can see the concern. We haven't had too many trolls on this site. I think there have only been a handful since I joined. I think we are a bit trigger happy (pun intended).

Stupid is as Stupid does! Let just say I am a 200 pound dike who is sick of being harassed at my work place. Happy now. Picture that. Anyway it is not that I like guns. I don't. But I feel that I need to be able to protect myself against males that are twice my size and can beat the shit out of me.
Question: What would I need to get a permit in Rhode Island.
I do not have a gun as of yet. I have not taken a course but will. I was on my H.S. ROTC shooting team, I learned to fire a 9mm which was the one the Army issues and I was allowed to shoot it. I am a good shot. The info that some of you have provided is very helpful. I never saw the crying game and have no clue what you mean. If I was at the range I would look like any female in sneakers, jeans, and a sweatshirt and would look like I am 18 to 21. You would think that I am some skinny girl shooting. Would not even turn your head. Considering your all suppose to be liberal, why are no woman on this site.

Because men with guns are often pigs
Even this liberal crowd sometimes scares them away. It's in our nature.
The hqndgunlaw.us website I linked above should give you some info on RI.I am not familiar with RI permit laws.

Foxgirl, start with this. No permit required and very effective.
Still need an FID ( a special restricted one) to purchase and possess that in MA.

Wow, tough state.
Foxgirl do not take my suggestion. Check your local laws.

Man, I thought California was uptight...well it is but we can carry pepper spray and stun guns. What did you people in MA do? I thought the Boston Tea Party was carried out because you all DIDN'T want to be like England?

Well, the FID is pretty much a done deal, and only costs 25 bucks, but if you have any Brady violations, no pepper spray for you.
Stun guns are entirely illegal for civilians.

So far info is informative. Thank you. I have a place I am staying at times in NH. I still have a FL license. I think I will change my drivers license to NH. It seems a lot less restrictive then England (Boston). After I get my gun license in N.H. I will then apply to MA and the other places I need. Again thanks for the info. Now I know this will sound stupid but is it possible to get a permit in CT and NY. If anyone knows. Thanks again. I spoke to a guy at a gun shop in N.H. and he told me once I have a drivers license he will do the background check on me and transfer the gun to me as a favor. He would make a permanent record that I purchased the gun legal like. Hope the DMV office is open and they take my electric bill. That is the only proof I have that I am renting. I'll flirt. Bye for now.

Yes you are flirting, you started it with your hints that you are an exotic dancer who likes guns. It gets the imagination juices flowing.
