Allegedly, the shooter used a 9mm handgun.

My administration has taken aggressive action to combat the gun violence epidemic. We passed the most significant gun safety legislation in nearly 30 years, I have taken more executive action to reduce gun violence than any other President in history, and I created the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. But more is needed. Congress must pass commonsense gun safety laws: Universal background checks. A national red flag law. A ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

He said he’s not certain if the weapon was owned or possessed by her [shooter's] parents.
The police are searching her home. This is the second religious school targeted lately. The school says they are not denominational, but it sounds like it has an evangelical connection. They are accredited by a religious body, not one of the regional accreditation agencies.

Hopefully those critically injured will recover. And we'll have to wait for more info like her motive.

The current laws and statutes are not doing enough. I don't have a problem with background checks. Nothing is going to be perfect.
The entire time I went to schools into the late 70's, Catholic and public and colleges no one ever brought a gun to school, especially to settle an argument. Knives yes, guns no. It was out behind the old barrack building for some fist to cuffs. You learned how to fight with your feet and hands early on out here.

Lots of people are killed by drunk drivers driving cars. We should ban high capacity busses to end this epidemic.

True or not, one report said the family does not believe in evolution and earth is 6K - I guess next may be flat earth. :sarcasm:

As tailgunner said, back when, things were a bit different when settling grievances. But still, late to end of 50's my large suburban high school had many on and off campus shootings, usually gang/race related and only one that I recall (off campus) was intended for mass injury when a car fully of hoods opened fire on a fast food restaurant about two blocks from school, injuring only one person. Rare, but it did happen. In the rural cities, was rare not to see rifle or shotgun in pickup gun rack.
No longer the case, since we have evolved into a better species. :sarcasm:

She wore the same t-shirt as the Columbine shooter.
Natalie Lynn Rupnow, the 15-year-old shooter at the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, has reportedly been pictured wearing the same T-shirt as the Columbine school shooters.

Rupnow was identified at 9.30 p.m. ET at a news conference in Wisconsin on Monday. Since then, posts and pictures from her social media, and the social media of family members, have been circulating, including photos of her purported to be wearing the garment.

Yup, drive by shootings were usually organized crime or big city gangs in the past. Sounds like the female shooter here was bullied, but we're not hearing a lot about motive. The teacher who was killed was apparently a substitute for the holidays. I assume families associated with the school have circled the wagons and we might not find out a lot more since the shooter is dead, so no trial. Britain banned most guns and knifings went epidemic along with acid attacks.

The shooter who killed a student and teacher at a religious school in Wisconsin brought two guns to the school and was in contact with a man in California who authorities say was planning to attack a government building, according to authorities and court documents that became public Wednesday. “We may never know what she was thinking that day, but we’ll do our best to try to add or give as much information to our public as possible,” Barnes said.

A California judge, meanwhile, issued a restraining order Tuesday under California’s gun red flag law against a 20-year-old Carlsbad man. The order requires the man to turn his guns and ammunition into police within 48 hours unless an officer asks for them sooner because he poses an immediate danger to himself and others.

According to the order, the man told FBI agents that he had been messaging Natalie Rupnow, the Wisconsin shooter, about attacking a government building with a gun and explosives. The order doesn’t say what building he had targeted or when he planned to launch his attack. It also doesn’t detail his interactions with Rupnow except to state that the man was plotting a mass shooting with her.

The student who was killed in Monday’s school shooting was identified in an obituary released Wednesday as Rubi Patricia Vergara, 14, of Madison. She was a freshman at the school and “an avid reader, loved art, singing and playing keyboard in the family worship band,” according to the obituary. The Associated Press’ attempts to reach the girl’s family by phone and email on Wednesday evening were unsuccessful.
While Rupnow had two handguns, Barnes said he does not know how she obtained them and he declined to say who purchased them, citing the ongoing investigation.

Well, this will be interesting following California's application of its red flag laws. But, a 15 year old with two handguns. I think determining who properly should own guns is real gun control. We don't know how she got them. Unless they were 3D printed somehow, then somewhere an adult was involved. There's a big part of the problem.

Guns are special things and require special considerations.

Yup, you know that ATF is involved and that they've traced the guns whether they have serial numbers, they were obliterated or they are unserialized 3D printed pistols. The Madison police chief is reluctant to release information, at a press conference he walked out without taking questions and left the Madison mayor and Dane County (Madison) executive to answer questions.
