Re: TikTok's fate in the US in the hands of SCOTUS.

Trump is expected to sign an Executive Order after he's sworn in today, giving TikTok 90 days of life. However that proviso in the law only allows the 90 day extension if TikTok is in the process of being sold and it's owner ByteDance has said it would never sell TikTok. So I expect lawsuits will be filed compelling Apple and Google stores to stop downloads and updates. Oracle powers TikTok in the US.

Trump signed an executive order giving ByteDance 75 days to sell TikTok, but nothing has changed at the Apple Store and the Google Store, downloads of TikTok are not available nor are updates at the two stores.
Android users who search for TikTok in the Google Play Store are greeted with an unclickable icon of the app logo along with a query: "Looking for TikTok?" Underneath is a message reading, "Downloads for this app are paused due to current U.S. legal requirements." Those with iPhones who search for TikTok will see a notice reading, "TikTok and other ByteDance apps are not available in the country or region you're in."

A prompt to "learn more" takes users to a support page with additional information about the availability of TikTok and other apps owned by ByteDance in the United States. "Apple is obligated to follow the laws in the jurisdictions where it operates," the message reads, citing the law that went into effect Jan. 19.

We can be sure that they're following legal advice, they don't want to incur any sanctions under the law. Oracle powers TikTok in the US and current users can still access the app in the US.
