Yup it looks a lot like a Glock, like the slide lock, the take down tab, the slide... The fire control unit is a SIG feature. MSRP is $499.00 but Palmetto is selling them for $399.00, a lot less than a Glock Gen 3 which is all we can buy in California. Don't know what the frame is made of, Ruger has used glass filled nylon on past semi-autos and of course Glock has a patented polymer.

I'm completely underwhelmed. I guess this is meant to compete with Glock simply on price point. I'm a DA/SA hammer fired lover so this shis kind of thing is not my cup of tea. I'm not sure who is the target market for this gun....maybe new buyers who love Ruger (who doesn't?) but want a Glock?

Its a magpul gripframe with an inserted and serialized fire control group. That is apparently what all the hoopla is about. Supposed to be able to swap it into other gripframes, assuming said frames become available.

But you have to watch eleventy billion 15 minute review videos to get to that conclusion, because you keep thinking there must be something more to it. Which apparently there is not.

I like the serialized chassis concept - i bought a Beretta Pico for that feature which a proposed .32 acp conversion kit and the ability to change grip frames. But none of that ever happened. I like where this is going with Magpul and Ruger but it seems a little late with *EvErYoNe!* having a polymer framed, striker fired pistol in their lineup already.

THat's the big deal to me. If I want a glock clone I'd buy a PSA dagger, but the fact that the grip is not serialized and can be swapped with different sizes, shapes, colors, etc is pretty cool. I have no doubts that Magpul will produce some interesting stuff, and since it's a pistol and the FCG is removable it could easily be made into a PCC "pistol" with a brace and longer barrels with just a furniture change.

Ok, I get that. Got an email yesterday indicating they already have a second grip frame, same one but in black, ready to go. So that's a good sign. And I did see a video somewhere showing how to remove the FCG. Looked pretty straightforward. Couple of pins and that's it.
