News outlets say they were stolen in Charlotte, but the couple received their case with the locks cut off. If TSA cuts the locks off _before_ the case leaves the point of origin, the case doesn't fly.
Re: Massachusetts couple's checked pistols stolen at CLT or BOS
2The story doesn't say, but I hope the FBI or ATF is involved. Hopefully x-ray or some other analysis method verified that the gun was locked in a case at Charlotte and the owner didn't make it up. Since we can't put our own locks on suitcases anymore, I've been concerned that it was only time before guns went missing. People who scan the luggage would know if there is a gun, they have inside info that it's been declared.

3Yet another reason why I've sworn off riding winged buses. I don't trust the TSA people as far as I could throw one of their scanners.
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

4We have a friend who is TSA. I'll ask her how this could happen.

5I was almost strip searched for no apparent reason at Sky Harbor.
They didn't find anything, so the TSA can just fly up a fat guys ass for lunch!
Asking why got me no answers, so no flying for me.

6That would really piss me off. Once, I flew with my guitar (Martin D-35). I had to check it. I slackened the strings and watched it head into baggage. When I got to the destination and baggage claim, there it came. Right there on the floor I opened the case to check it. It was fine. But never again. That was about 1975 when my guitar was only a couple years old. Now it's over fifty and, and in the dry summer it sounds like an angel singing from a rose petal; wet season volume is like the angel is wearing an unbuttoned Eisenhower jacket. I was lucky. I feel for those folks.
