Kind of sucks when people we love to hate are so damn good at getting things done and creating new technologies we all depend on. Could do like bin Laden and live in a cave.

Everyone who comes in contact with Trump seems to devolve.

The lofty phrase "Fuck You" just doesn't accomplish anything. We could do better.

I don't know why they did this "chopsticks" catch, but I have to admit that it was impressive.

As for NASA, I'm afraid they are so mired in bureaucracy that they literally can't do things as well as SpaceX. Congress puts messed up mandates on NASA that forces them to do things like outsource all of the work not just to private companies, but to many companies spread all over the nation. Congress sees NASA as a pork barrel they can dip into to bring the bacon back home to Congressional districts. This is part of why the SLS rocket, despite having huge funding, is still over budget and behind schedule. It would take a lot more than a budget increase to make NASA efficient enough to really get things done.

Many of the accidents involved the landing legs, so with a booster as heavy as this, the chop sticks grab would be more predictable and safer, thus, cheaper in the long run.

Musk just buys the right people and pushes them. This is not to minimize the successes of his projects. It's to clarify his role.

Still, pretty danged cool.

Having worked in the private and the public sectors, I agree about the political influences. It's not partisan, it's doing what is needed to get reelected and keeping jobs in your district is huge.

Phuk Musk and all his bullshit biz.
Ditto that.
How many blew up before working? And we totally paid for the failures that Musk claimed were legit trials.
He's just another grifter.
I'll never buy anything Telsa.
How many shuttles did NASA blow up? How many attempts/crashes/lives lost did it take to make commercial aviation a reality? So far, no one has died in any of his rockets. Good thing cars and guns are completely safe or we would be in quite a bit of trouble.

I'm going to find out what brand of shoes Musk wears and NEVER buy a pair. That will probably just kill him.

A relative owns a Tesla, which I drove for an hour or so. It makes combustion vehicles seem like the Flintstone's car. I can't afford one, so that will make everyone here happy.

My $2. Seems inflation has done away with the cents key.

Haven't driven a Tesla, but I see plenty of them in town. A lot of rich bitches own them, the Tesla charging station in town is in a strip mall where I shop. No doubt Musk is very concerned with blocking Chinese EVs, they could kill his golden goose.

HIs politics is hurting car sales among Democrats.
Strategic Vision’s data, published by the Wall Street Journal, found that just 15pc of Tesla buyers were Democrats in October [2023], compared to 39pc across 2022. The percentage identifying as Republicans was 32pc, while 44pc said they were independents.

My sister is not a rich bitch. Do you know the financial situation of every driver you see? Had you seen me driving that Tesla, what would you have make me? Fact is, that Tesla does perhaps everything better than IC. My owning a Ford says nothing of how I might feel about Henry. The gas you buy says nothing about how you feel about the harm done to the environment, does it? We all eat food grown with fertilizer, made possible by a guy named Fritz Haber.

Money is always influential. This is why one aspect of a long term strategy for success is to work to overturn Citizens United. Next would be to pass public financing of elections within a certain time frame--saving the public from "the endless campaign".
