To a kid like me who drank from the hose, there is no bad chocolate. Some's better'n others, but none truly bad. I'm glad I'm old enough now to be able to afford the better stuff. No longer do I have to go to Ripoff Park to score. I go to the local Schubert's Candy and get a box o' Dark.

Like most I grew up on Hershey's chocolate in it's many forms, then discovered Cadbury and finally got into dark chocolate. Every once and awhile I'll have a York Peppermint or a Cadbury Caramello, but dark chocolate with high cacao percentage is my favorite. And it's heart healthy like coffee in moderation, for those addicts who enjoy it. For me I'll stick with my green tea with oat milk.

Saw some bags of small Dutch Blue potatoes in a local store so I grabbed two bags. They are blue all the way through, but taste just like a regular potato. They're higher in anti-oxidants and fiber than white potatoes. I usually find purple potatoes this time of year and they're white and purple inside. I think potato colors other that white or red are off-putting for most people, so they avoid them.

Still haven't found any purple sweet potatoes down here, that CDF mentioned.

My Endangered chocolates arrived a day late - what happened to "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"?? No joy DeJoy. LOL We never had any of the forecast road problems. I had received a note from USPS that package could not be delivered due to inclimate weather.

My first taste of espresso beans was 'bitterly' disappointing and addictive. I had expected more 'sweetness', but went thru the complete bar in short order. I'll work my way thru the remaining five flavors over the weekend.

LOL Enjoy !

I drove into the big city yesterday for business and stopped at the big nutrition store to pick up cereal grains. I walked down the long isle with the candy bars and chocolate reading labels and finally gave up, too many to read. Plus I had my calories for the day, I had a burger and fries at 5 Guys.

One of the things I enjoy about dark is it's not so sweet. I admit that some I've tasted have been downright bitter. But in general I welcome that little oral journey into the weeds. I melt that espresso version in my mouth 'till I can feel stuff to bite. +*

As it so happened--"As it was supposed to happen" reminds Bokonon--today as I schlepped past the chocolate shelf at the Co-op, there lay a bar of 85% dark infused with orange essence, distributed through the Equal Exchange folks, who also do coffee. Man. They have my number, that's for sure. One word: "exquisite."

The fam was laughing at me in Dizzland as I went along the piles of chocolate bars in the Ghirardelli's shop they have there. I was grabbing like four of each one. hehe

I just did it: I'm thinking of starting a strong coffee and dark chocolate for breakfast podcast. Not live, but recorded once a day for folks to play while they...wait for it, drink strong coffee and melt dark chocolate in their mouths. Then they start their days...

I'm gonna be eating a lot of chocolate rapidly as they shipped me several that "best by date" March 2025 experation - some March 2026. Frankly, I had no idea chocolate had an experation. I feel disrespected as an online consumer since they shipped me product they could not sell to distributors. LOL

Here's some variety for ya. Costco got thge big candy bar bags back in stock. I buy them for the wifes minions at work and the bag is gone in a matter of hours. Like twenty people in there. Then there's my stash of Ghirardelli's I got in Dizzyland.
The wife caught me buying extra bags of the Costco stuff for our end of days stash. hehe
You knowe they weigh the small candy bars by weight at Ghirardelli's. So I just grabbing them by the handful.
