Which gun rights advocacy groups do you support?
1What the title says. In the current political environment which groups do you support with donations and what are they doing in the judicial system to protect our rights now and in the future?
LGC is a given. Perhaps should give more. How about the SAF are they a group that is working in the courts?featureless wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 11:58 am The LGC membership (though I should increase it), presently and historically. I will be giving some money to Firearms Policy Coalition. I'm not a fan of their, ahem, PR, but they are getting shit done in the courts.
Hopefully the leadership still reads the forum. For some reason I can’t seem to access the discord account. Not enough tech savvy anymore to figure it out.featureless wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 12:16 pm I haven't investigated SAF much. The majority of the legal cases I follow are either supported or headed by FPC.
This might be a worthy question of LGC leadership. I know LGC has been involved in amici for some cases, so have connections with the heavy hitters.

I posed the question on Discord and will report back.sikacz wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 12:44 pm

When I've talked to leadership in CA, there is a desire to do more in the lobbying and legal front. Reality is, our club is small and revenue is minute in comparison to many. There aren't any paid positions in club leadership. It's all volunteers. Time and money limit what can be done.sikacz wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:41 pm As for our place here, I would like to know if I make extra donations that the funds would go specifically toward protecting gun rights, work on opposing an AWB and preparation to oppose its implementation, and legal cases that are being fought right now.
I whole heartedly support what we have done, but considering the discussions and what the dem candidates are saying I want more bang for my buck.featureless wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:51 pmWhen I've talked to leadership in CA, there is a desire to do more in the lobbying and legal front. That said, I know the LGC participated in at least two Amici, Bruen at SCOTUS and the one against CAs latest CCW law (from memory).
This is something I've expressed interest in participating in, but I'm still in the employment trenches, have a remodel in progress and property to maintain...
Go ahead and say it, CDF. Prolly 'cause we're stupid, eh? No, excuse me, ignorant.CDFingers wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 10:15 am Sometimes metaphors do not reach the entire audience.
CDF
The metaphor may have run out of ammo.
