"Kyle Rittenhouse just turned on Donald Trump and MAGA isn’t happy"

Kyle Rittenhouse really likes guns, he really likes the second amendment, and because of that he doesn’t like Donald Trump for president. It’s 2024 folks. The build to the November election is here, and in that mix, a one-time darling of the MAGA movement — Rittenhouse — is now getting hammered by those very same folks online for telling people not to vote for Trump. It started on X, formerly Twitter, with Rittenhouse posting a photo of himself next to Ron Paul. “There aren’t many people in this world I get excited to meet but meeting (Ron Paul) was an incredible pleasure,” he wrote. But it didn’t stop there. There is video that Rittenhouse shared to his X account with the caption, “You must stand by your principles.”And, in that video, he explains why he will not vote for Trump.

“A lot of people are upset because I said I’m going to be writing in Ron Paul for president of the United States, and that is true. I will be writing in Ron Paul,” Rittenhouse explains. “Unfortunately, Donald Trump had bad advisors making him bad on the second amendment and that is my issue. If you cannot be completely uncompromisable on the second amendment I will not vote for you, and I will write somebody else in." “We need champions for the second amendment, or our rights will be eaten away and eroded each day,” Rittenhouse continued. “I support my decision, and I have no take backs.” No take backs guys. No matter how many hate-filled X responses you throw at him.

“Trump and MAGA had our back, but now you don’t have his,” the Marjorie Taylor Greene Presse Release (Parody) account responded. “This seems like desperate attempt for attention,” Nick Scortor wrote. “You are a (expletive) idiot,” Philip Anderson wrote. “I am unfollowing you.” Anderson also continued about Kamala Harris supposedly wanting to confiscate guns and people hunting down Republicans, for some reason. There were plenty more comments — those were some of the nicer ones — ripping Rittenhouse so it looks like his days of feeling the love from the folks in that movement might very well be over. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Conservative campaigner Kyle Rittenhouse has promised to support Donald Trump in November's US election, reversing comments hours earlier that he would vote against him because he was "bad" at protecting gun rights. Mr Rittenhouse, now 21, shot dead two men during racial unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in August 2020. He was cleared of all charges the following year after arguing self-defence. Instead of Trump, he said he planned to write in former Libertarian presidential nominee Ron Paul on the ballot. Trump has repeatedly vowed to protect Americans' right to own guns and to roll back Biden-era restrictions on firearms.

Mr Rittenhouse - who became a cause célèbre among some US conservatives during his trial - met Trump just a week after being cleared of charges in November 2021, with the president calling him a "fan". In an online post early on Friday, Mr Rittenhouse - now outreach director for the group Texas Gun Rights - said that "unfortunately, Donald Trump has bad advisers, making him bad on the Second Amendment", which protects gun ownership in the US. "If you cannot be completely un-compromisable on the Second Amendment, I will not vote for you," he said on X, formerly Twitter. "We need champions for the Second Amendment or our rights would be eaten away and eroded each day." "I support my decision and I have no take-backs," he added.

In a later post, however, he wrote that in the last 12 hours he had had "a series of productive conversations with members of the Trump's team and I am confident he will be the strong ally gun owners need to defend our Second Amendment rights". He called his comments from the night earlier "ill-informed and unproductive".

Kyle is someone that meant well and how his parents allowed him to go to that BLM demonstration where he was forced to shoot three people was plain dumb. A blatant disregard of the S's. Do not be at stupid places, at stupid times, doing stupid things with with stupid people. He has gotten some fame and a little older but still not much wiser.
So first some extremist no compromise pro-gunners get to him to go anti-trump and he eats it up. Then some others that are pro-trumpers talk him back down and now he supports Trump.
He seems lucky
He got a not guilty decision on his charges and he got to keep some of the huge defense fund that was raised for him. I doubt too many people listen to K. Rittenhouse for election advice or for any thing else. For a dumb kid he seemingly has done well for himself.

KENOSHA — Kyle Rittenhouse's rifle will be dismantled at the Wisconsin state crime lab in April, and he will get to keep nearly $1 million of the crowd-funded bail that was posted to keep him out of jail during his homicide trial last year.

At a short hearing Friday, Judge Bruce Schroeder approved two deals. One, agreed to by Rittenhouse, was to let authorities destroy the rifle. The other was to divvy up his $2 million bail with actor Ricky Schroder and a Texas non-profit organization led by Atlanta lawyer Lin Wood.

Under the agreement, $920,000 will be paid, in trust, to Richards & Dimmer, the Racine law firm that defended Rittenhouse. Another $925,000 will go to #FightBack Foundation. Schroder, who posed with Rittenhouse soon after he was released on bail, gets back $150,000 he contributed.
