Here’s all I know:
https://thegunzone.com/what-is-krogers-firearm-policy/

I carry concealed so no one at Kroger would know I have a gun. Not a fan of open carry simply because I don’t care for assholes to know I have a gun. Never been pointed out at a Kroger.
My CCL instructor (SWAT sniper and trains Police officers as well as civilians) refers to open carry as wearing a "shoot me first" sign around your neck. In the woods out hunting or fishing where there are bears or other dangerous critters I might open carry but at the grocery store? I try to be The Gray Man when in public.

On way home today I stopped by a newly opened Burger/Beer place called "The Shack" planning to have a quick dinner - They had a 51% sign in window, which in Texas means no guns, open or concealed. I decided that if they sold more booze than food (that's what 51% means), it wasn't worth my disarming to have a bite, albeit I was well concealed and have NEVER been called on it anywhere. Any place that sells more booze than food, can't have good food IMHO. LOL
Kroger's pulled out of our market some 20 years ago. All grocery stores left in SATX allow concealed carry, no open.

I worked at a nearby Kroger several years ago. I have friends who work there and at other locations around town.

Since I share the attitude about open carry with several of you, nobody at that store would know that I'm carrying a concealed firearm that I'm licensed to carry in my state (of confusion...).
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

No Kroger's anymore around here that I know of. If there were, and I wanted to shop there, I might go to the ones in Iowa and carry concealed if I wanted to because "you can't carry that here!" signs do not carry force of law in Iowa. In Illinois, if they display the designated sign, yer at risk of losing your license if caught ignoring the sign and carrying which many do anyway.

Needs to be as complicated as possible (carry laws) so we can discourage and confound as many as possible from carrying for personal protection. Even though studies have shown licensed aficionados with CCL's to be the most trustworthy and law abiding people out and about. America seems to have devolved into a "if I don't like it, you can't have it" situation. I follow the law as much as possible but I do admit to crossing the river to shop at places in Iowa where the posted signs against concealed carry have no force of law unless they are one of the forbidden carry zones like schools and federal buildings etc.

I try to stay armed with a concealed pistol now as much as possible - even at home. And all of my carry pieces have been upgraded with better, more concealable and comfortable holsters, letter of the law magazines, and I'm training daily and live fire weekly. All of this pushback on carrying for personal defense has the opposite effect on me. I will exercise my rights to the Nth degree within the letter of the law(s).

Why did the OP edit their original post? Why haven’t they answered or posted anything about the original issue? Or what Krogers carry policies are? There’s nothing odd about Krogers carry rules, they support concealed carry essentially. Not sure at all what the OP intended with this post.
