Beretta 80X Cheetah - Beretta brought them back!

It's like they read my mind and brought back a modernized version of the model 84- double stack .380 magazine, picatinny rail in the front for a light or laser, and it's optics ready. The rear sight is mounted on a plate that can be removed and a adapter plate with a reflex sight/red dot can be installed without a gunsmith.

Same classic DA/SA pistol with a frame mounted decocker, I got her all lubed up with my stuff (I never shoot a gun with factory lubrication) and put 100 rounds of handloads thru her yesterday. Shoots like a sharp pair of scissors and never missed a lick. I shoot 100 gr. Flat nosed bullets in .380 and it gobbled them up. I was surprised at the amount of recoil until I remembered that this is a straight blowback action. No tilting barrels like the Browning designs and no rotary barrel like my Px4's. It's pretty heavy and feels like a model 92 except smaller. Designed/touted as a carry gun targeted at women but it racks pretty hard and recoils more than a compact 9mm so we'll see how that goes for Beretta.

Anyway, I got 4 Berettas now and I'm kinda liking that.

Exactly. But it shoots just like the old 84BB and 84FS I owned but with a *WaY* better trigger. DA from hammer down is probably the lightest, crispest DA I ever shot. It's fast in follow ups with a super crisp and shorter reset SA pull. I'm disappointed with the recoil but I'll manage with a little more practice.

And me as well....I'll be looking to sell my 80X in .380 soon but I'll keep the RDO, mounting plate, and custom grips to put on the .32 version.

This actually thrills me as I'm a .32 ACP lover especially with new/modern self defense loads. In a blow back style pistol, the only thing we really gain in .380 over .32 is more/snappier recoil. I'm stoked about this! Plus I'm teaching my Girl to shoot and a Beretta 80X in .32 is very high on the list of training and carry pistols.

Edit: Oh Wow! Supposedly there will be a .32 acp conversion kit with a barrel and new mags for .32. I'm not holding my breath as I'm *still* waiting for RDO plates for my Beretta 30X Tomcat. But a conversion kit for my existing 80X in .380 is a lot of serious Coolness for me.
