Howdy from Houston, TX

1
Hello, everyone!
My name is Ben, and I'm a native Houstonian. I've been around guns my entire life, in fact I got my first gun at only 5 years old!
I'd heard of the Liberal Gun Club a couple of times on the news but never really looked it up until I stumbled across the forum today. I'm excited to be here, it seems like a diverse and interesting group, and it's nice to be able to discuss guns and related subjects without being inundated with right wing noise.
Anyway, I am looking forward to learning and having discussions with everyone and I wish you all the best

-ben

Ahoy, Ben. I got my first gun when I was eight. I'm in northern California where your almonds come from. Welcome. We have quite a few Texans here, even some from Houston. See? Sikacz posted as I was posting.

CDFingers
The wolf came in; I got my cards; we sat down for a game.
I cut my deck to the Queen of spades, but the cards were all the same.

Thanks, Cooper, and sig230, I'm glad to be here.
Coop, I've typed and deleted about ten different remarks about the Pack, but since I'm here to make friends, I'll just say sorry and I hope it gets better lol. One of my best friends is from Wisconsin, you can bet I've been giving him a hard time!

It's all good Besto -- fire away. I'm sort of immune, though, as I don't follow sports much. I had to look just now, and the Pack is 3-6, ouch.

Green Bay thought they had a team for a while there. Turns out they just had a quarterback.

If you need help understanding your bud from WI, I'd recommend "Manitowoc Minute." Lots of Wisconsin humor.

Thanks BearPaws, I'll have one on you

I shoot a little of everything, but I really enjoy shooting rifles the best. I just ordered a 338 lapua from lone star over on longpoint (I hope that doesn't count as an endorsement or against the rules) and can't wait to shoot that bad mamma jamma. It's fun to get down with pistols as well though. Really any day at the range beats a day at work.
When it comes to pistols, I've really fallen in love with 1911s. I hope to add a matching pair in 10mm to my collection one day. I've got pistols in everything from 22lr to 45 acp, and I enjoy all of them.

I'm sure that others will join me in clamoring for pictures!
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

I guess I am late to the party.

Another Howdy from Houston. If you ever find yourself in the Spring Branch area, lets go shoot. I have a few rifles of varying calibers, but I'm not into anything over 100 yards. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I just can't overcome scope shadow. I can hold my own with most pistols. You mentioned 10mm, yeah, I'm a fan. I may not have a pair, but I have a couple a few 100mm pistols.

I’m a bit south of you in the Rice Village area by the downtown med center.
That's a great area. I lived in Montrose/ Museum District for many years. I loved it over there
We like this area, been here since 1996, my wife worked for decades at the medical center. She’s retired and I’m semi-retired, LoL. I’ve been out of shooting action due to a shoulder injury and surgery. Hopefully we can get some of the local Texas crew together for a shoot meet, perhaps beginning of the year About all I’m cleared to shoot without hesitation is .22LR.

So I should leave the Desert Eagle and 50 Beowulf at home?
Well others might enjoy them. LoL. I’ll be a light weight for a few more months.

I grew up in Spring Branch- over off Bingle and Longpoint. My best friend lives over there also. He's a shooter too, but he is into glocks
