For a long time, I've been seeing Servicios y Aventuras Small Pistol Primers pop up at about half the price of other primers. I finally added some to another order yesterday. I'm going to work up some 38 spc loads with these for the Blackhawk and see how it goes.
Probably won't get reloading time for a couple of weeks, but I'll report back then.
Re: Servicios y Aventuras Primers
2Should work fine in hammer-fired guns from what I read.
So your intended use in a .38 should be good to go. Seems like people were having inconsistent results (light primer strikes) in striker fired guns, especially budget-friendly, guns like Taurus G3’s etc.
Load ‘em up and give us a review so we can buy them for our revolvers….

Re: Servicios y Aventuras Primers
3Had some time today to test these out.
This 38 spl load worked well in my Blackhawk 357 mag 6.5" barrel. It was just a trial run of 15 rounds:
- Servicios y Aventuras Small Pistol Primers
- Missouri Bullet Company 125 grain RNFP Brinell 12 (Cowboy #17).
- Titegroup 3.6 grains.
Very mild out of the Blackhawk. No primer issues on my first 15 rounds. I didn't really test the accuracy -- I shot offhand at 7 yards, 2-handed, rapid fire. Mostly a large jagged hole with several flyers. Suffice it to say, any accuracy problems are going to be me, not the gun or the ammo.
I'm very happy with this so far.

4Loaded up 45 more rounds, same load. No issues. Very happy. They are online for 5 cents apiece right now.
Re: Servicios y Aventuras Primers
5I’ve heard mixed reviews on Servicios y Aventuras primers, so I’m curious to see how they work out for you. A while back, I tried some cheaper small pistol primers for my .38 special loads, and they ended up working pretty well, so you might be in for a pleasant surprise. The Blackhawk is a fun one to shoot, so I bet you'll enjoy the process. I usually reload with my buddy on weekends, but we both have been swamped with work lately. It's great when you can finally set aside some time for it, right? Nothing beats the satisfaction of firing those first rounds you’ve reloaded yourself.

6I'm definitely curious to see how the Servicios y Aventuras primers perform too! It's always great to find a good alternative to the more expensive options. I've had similar experiences with cheaper primers working out well, so fingers crossed these will do the same. And I completely agree, there's something special about shooting rounds you've reloaded yourself - the sense of accomplishment is unbeatable! Hopefully, you'll get some free time soon to reload with your buddy and enjoy some range time.

7I have purchased a lot of those primers also, but have not used them. Thanks for the heads up about light primer strikes.
