Re: Sig Sauer P365 added to the California “roster “

The Boland v Bonta decision issued back in March 2023 declared microstamping unconstitutional, it was just a matter of time before the SIG 365 was added to the CA Gun Roster. I like the compact model, a local gun shop owner showed me his which he bought from someone who moved here from out of state. The expiration date of 1/1/2024 is because the CA AG expects the 9th Circuit to overturn Boland v Bonta. It's before a 9th Circuit panel of two Clinton appointees and one Biden appointee.

The SIG P320 is now on the Roster.
Manufacturer:
Sig Sauer Model:
320CA-9-M18-MS-CA*
Handgun Type: Pistol
Caliber: 9mm
Barrel Length: 3.9"
Materials: Alloy; Polymer
Expired Date: 01/01/2024
HK might have thought it wasn't worth the money since it will expire on 1/1/2024. Ruger's Mark IV 22lr and Ruger's LCP 22lr are on the Roster. I'm not confident that this three judge panel with two Clinton appointees and one Biden appointee will uphold the district court ruling.

Oh, they certainly won't uphold. Even if they did, it would be en banced immediately. We will have no relief unless and until these cases make it through SCOTUS. CA9 simply won't allow a gun rights win to stand. They are entirely corrupt on this issue.

Damn that's disheartening. I was thinking about looking into purchasing one as my full size Beretta is a bit bulky for EDC, what with having to change the position of the holster depending on whether i'll be sitting or walking for an extended period of time.

Just shoot one first, if you can. 365 is keen, speaks to the alter of 'capacity' but a small gun and 'snappy' doesn't really sum it up.
BUT, Many 'mid sized', compact 9MM carry guns 'out there'. Just stay away from the 'micros' in 9mm, IMHO.
I EDC a Glock 48, sons both carry Glock 43x. Thin, 10+1(I have the Shield Arms 15r mag), very comfy to shoot. FAR better than the 365 and many other 'micro' 9s.

I might try renting one at the range just to see how it works for me but I must say you've got me leaning heavily against it.

We don't have many choices in 380 pistols. I wouldn't carry my CZ 83 because it's steel frame, but a great shooter. Ruger's LC 380 is on the Roster, but the newer Ruger Security 380 in 10+1 and LCP Max in 10 + 1 aren't available and no Glock 42. Walther doesn't have any on the Roster but they have 380s. So I'll stick with my cheap Firestorm 380 in 7+1, it has a manual safety, a buttery trigger and it's very concealable when I carry. And cheap to replace.

Some really love it, but also seem to wince when they shoot it. The 365 really spoke to those who value capacity over all else. The SAS version is a joke...low light=no sight.
But, yup, test before you buy...The lastest gen sigs 'probably ' have all the bugs worked out...

For right above,
and no Glock 42
.....I carry my Glock 42 as much as my Glock 48..It has a +2 mag extension, Hogue grip...gun in holster is same width as -48..Desantis SlimTuck holster. Just lots heavier. I carry at 3oclock so barrel length is no big deal. Both great FTS(Fun To Shoot)..gun has to be FTS, or it becomes a holster or safe queen and ya never see if it's reliable and ya never get really good with it.

More have been added. This should be at least a temporary boost for the battered California LGS owners. I called my LGS and was added to the Sig P365 waiting list. A few of my favorites to shoot have been my P230, P239, P232SL and P238. This will be my third striker-fired pistol (the other two are Kahrs).

I am not surprised the some people don't like the P365. 9mm mouse guns do have a lot of recoil. I can set my p320 up as a sub-compact, but the recoil is greater than as a compact or carry, and I lose the red dot.

There was a recent article in the WaPo (I think) bitching at Sig complaining that the P320 is subject to many inadvertent firings, in addition to being dropped. One thing caught my eye: a retired serviceman, I think USAF, shot himself in the hand while trying to determine if there was a round in the chamber.

Think about it. How the FUCK did this imbecile manage that? He HAD to have his hand in front of the barrel. Who does that, ESPECIALLY if you're trying to see if it is or isn't loaded. Rule 1: EVERY gun you pick up is loaded until YOU make sure it's clear. He could have racked the slide repeatedly, flipped the slide release to remove the slide, even pointed it at a concrete wall and pulled the trigger (NOT recommended). Yet this bozo managed to shoot himself in the hand and claimed "It wuzn't me--the Sig is defective!"

Unfortunately the comment section was closed but someone did note that paragraph.

While the 320 has never interested me the reports of Immaculate Discharge are not very convincing. First, Sig has always be very good when it comes to manufacturing issues often going beyond what is legally required when it comes to recalls but with the 320, it seems Sig has been unable to duplicate a single instance of the gun going off when it's not intended to do so; no reports of armorers finding guns where the striker fire when the gun was in the rack or safe, no reports of guns going off when in the drawer or safe at home and lots of reports of guns going off when being handled or in holsters but the holster moving.

If they weren't quite so butt ugly I'd have no reservations buying one as long as I knew no one I knew saw me with it.
To be vintage it must be older than me!
The next gun I buy will be the next to last gun I ever buy. PROMISE!

The only documented evidence I've seen is of a P320 falling directly on the back end of the slide, at the exact perfect angle and that was address by the "Voluntary Upgrade". Everything else sounds like incompetent mishandling--especially that guy shot in the hand.
