So far I have found no issues using factory load sintered copper bullets with any of my pistols. I haven't had to make any changes other than compensating for a slightly flatter trajectory.
To be vintage it must be older than me!

I haven't read much about the stopping power of sub sonic copper out a hand gun. Since copper is less dense than lead, you have to make the bullet longer to get some weight. The LC cases are huge, but the acp cases pose interesting length challenges. It seems an interesting problem once I get back out to my reloading shack. I've got fifty .45 LC cases all primed and ready. Gotta find some experimental .452's. If I see no pressure signs, I might go fatter. I love experiments.

Lehigh defense makes a 300 gr. Copper solid. That should get the bullet weight up for the less dense copper loads. Not cheap, but that wouldn’t bother me for carry in a single action if that’s my only option for a field loading. Shoot a few to confirm zero at intended ranges.

Dudes and dudettes! That is glorious. Problem solved. The WFN design is noted for excellent penetration in hard lead. Likely even better with solid copper. Wow: look how long they are.

eta: I'm a lazy ass there.

Update on the holster. I'm still liking it. Everything broke in just fine. I bought a Simply Rugged pancake holster for the Super Redhawk, and that has been great too. Simply Rugged sells a chest rig setup that works with both holsters. I've got that, and it's a much better way to carry the Super Redhawk -- in the woods, that is.
