Down to the high teens per round for remanufactured. Low twenty cents if you buy enough.
I've never bought re manufactured and not sure I want to. Can you reload cheaper? I don't know
.
Re: 9mm Ammo
2My primary store--a location of RangeUSA--stocks remanufactured ammo in 9mm (and probably a couple other calibers). Shelf price there is not appreciably lower than new Magtech, frankly, and both are in the mid- to upper-thirties per round.
There certainly is decent reman stuff out there--the only thing they are reusing is the brass casing. Can they sell it cheaper than I can do my own? The initial investment in tooling and learning to do the work reliably are my hurdles. I'd have to reload a lot of rounds to amortize those down to the point that reloading makes sense for me.
YMMV, of course.

Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

3Will reloading save money? You have to ask yourself one question. Am I a gadget person? If you answer Yes, then no.
I ordered a case of optimism from Amazon, but porch pirates beat me to it. Still, chin-up.
Re: 9mm Ammo
4Yeah, now is the time to stack 9mm deep.
I have the capability to load it; but not worth it at 11.95 a box. I’m saving my primers for loading revolver ammo like .357 that is much more expensive.
I’m shooting factory 9mm 90% of the time now with a few other calibers sprinkled in.

Re: 9mm Ammo
5I have had good luck with reman made on the same lines as new ammo.
To be vintage it must be older than me!

Re: 9mm Ammo
6I found my ammo list. It says I need more 9mm and ,556 and well everything cept .22LR. I better do inventory. I didn't date it and I know I've bought a bunch.

Re: 9mm Ammo
7Bass Pro/Cabelas has Herters for $14.00 per 50..Same ammo as Winchester White Box. Lots of it as well. Also Herters 38Special. I think $28 per 50.
Bottom line is the ammo shelves are full..LOTS of ammo. In addition, Cabelas Gun Library(used guns) PACKED. Seems like a lot of people who bought a gun duringthe Covid scare, 'just in case' are unloading them(sorry for the pun)...Like 5 G-19s, a TON of Sig 365s, Hellcats, many, many others. At Denver Cabelas.

Re: 9mm Ammo
8Just had some shipped from a ammo supplier about 50 miles away ( free shipping). Browning 115 grain $228 ( plus tax) for 1000 rounds.

Re: 9mm Ammo
9Given the still-high price of small pistol primers, and the much-increased availability of 9mm, I'd have to agree; it's better at this time to buy 9mm remanufactured ("reloaded") ammo. That changes for the .38/357 family, though, and I've been shooting mostly .38 Special and .45 ACP lately.INVICTVS138 wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2023 9:18 am Yeah, now is the time to stack 9mm deep.

When I got started shooting, it was with remanufactured .38 Special ammo from Mastercast Bullet Co. The range sold that ammo, and it fired very well. Kept the brass and reloaded it. Still use that brass, as .38 Spl brass tends to last a pretty long time.
Georgia Arms has quite a thriving business selling reman'ed ammo. I've shot some of their rounds, and they shoot just as well as brand-new ammo. As long as the company is reputable, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Buffalo Bore does the same thing, the only difference being that they use new brass cases. The process of ammo manufacture is still the same. Jerry Miculek shoots pretty much all reman'ed ammo; his process for brass tumbling is on YouTube.
When/if the price of primers goes back down to something reasonable, like it was in 2019, then I'd say it'd be worth it financially to reload 9mm.
With that said....
The pandemic period should've taught us all to be prepared in case of shortages. That means even a simple reloading press, a little $50 single-stage from, say, Lee Precision or similar. It also means getting a supply of components to build cartridges. This is so that you actually will have practice ammo available when, not if, the next shortage happens.
It never ceases to astound me that people don't learn from ammo shortages. I did in 2009, and I haven't been without practice ammo since.
