Bought this for my Ruger PC-9..

First use and the wee rod fell out, lost in dirt...I think I have replacements but any ideas on how to keep it in there?
Re: Fiber Optic front sight...rod fell out
2Lighter or soldering rod on each end.
To be vintage it must be older than me!

3I'd put a tetch of Barge cement or one of those insta bond glues on two contact points.

4Might be a bit fiddly, perhaps place a cut to fit piece of clear sticky tape around the rod between fore and aft holding points, probably not even a full wrap. Should hold in place and allow for easier removal than cementing or melting.
I ordered a case of optimism from Amazon, but porch pirates beat me to it. Still, chin-up.

6Blue loctite - that’s specifically what I use for gunsights. Blue loctite is the weakest bond and can be broken with moderate force.

7Not to be argumentative, but this is wrong. Loctite Blue is medium strength. I think what is desired here is Loctite 222, also called Purple. It is the weakest bond Loctite product, and it's for things that you don't want to vibrate loose, but still need to be adjustable and move able without much force. Things like calibration screws, eyeglass screws, or adjustable gun sights...INVICTVS138 wrote:Blue loctite - that’s specifically what I use for gunsights. 9Blue Locktite (242) is my go-to. Like Invictvs, I can usually undo screws, etc., pretty easily, but it keeps screws from un-threading.
