5Whenever someone says "common sense" you know some shit is going to come out of their mouth. More background checks on "guns". Are they going to check if the gun has a criminal record or has been determined to be mentally ill?
I am all for tightening up the NICS system and having a national definition and due process for adjudication of mental illness; as well as a process by which to regain your right to own and carry for eligible persons. Other than that, what new "common sense" law will do anything different than the current restrictions in Chicago or laws in other areas?
