Re: Democratic Connecticut State Reps push bills to expand AWB, mag ban; ban open carry, body armor

AZ has a Democratic governor, but the legislature is controlled by Republicans, neither party has carte blanche to do anything they want. Washington and Illinois have Democratic governors and Democratic supermajorities in their legislatures, so Democrats can do whatever the fuck they want. DeSantis has a legislature with a Republican supermajority so he gets whatever he wants. One party government sucks.

The Democratic Party controls the offices of governor, secretary of state, and attorney general. So there's some power to be had. Ain't no gun bills getting though either way.
I like it.
Hobbs veto stamp is smoking, blocking all kinds of anti-LGBTQ crud.
Hobbs signed 29 bills on Tuesday and vetoed 11 more, bringing her total veto count so far to 63. Napolitano previously held the record for Arizona governor with most vetoes for the 58 bills she nixed in 2005.

AWB in some blue states(and at the federal level) have NOT happened and things like GOPathetic voter suppression, book banning, LGBTQ suppression laws, taking women's rights, Jim Crow racism, HAVE happened.

BTW-remember Jan 6th 2021? It was in all the papers.
Seriously? IL and WA just passed AWBs. There are now 10 blue states (and DC) with AWBs.

Yes, of course the GOP threats are happening.

Yes, Jan6 happened. It had nothing at all to do with Dem gun control. Should a larger insurrection with competent leadership occur, think some of these blue states citizens might like to have an AR-15? Aw shit, can't have. Banned. Go fight those armed insurrectionists with your Biden coach gun. G'luck!

By this logic, we should believe that the things the Dems promise to do won't happen but the things the repubs promise to do will.
How many states have voter suppression laws IN PLACE? 35 or so?

PLUS, anybody with any knowledge of 'guns' realizes the 'AR' is not the panacea for personal protection. My sons and I have 4 guns chambered in 223/556 and only one is an 'AR'. PLUS, how many of these 'bans' were grandfathered? As in, ARs not illegal but just cannot buy one(BUT, CAN buy a Ruger Mini-14)....I've said all along that banning a tool is never a good idea but banning an AR-15 style rifle will not make anybody 'defenseless'.

"Voter suppression" depends on which political party you ask, many states ask for valid ID when voting but to Democrats that's voter suppression, but not to Republicans. A lot like how political parties label legislation, the recent "Protect Illinois Communities Act" and the Republican "Patriot Act". Both political parties play the same shit games, look behind the political headlines at the actual law itself. The media just takes the low road and hypes one side, it pays their bills.

The open carry ban went into effect last month. Also, it is illegal to purchase >3 handguns per month.
