Sold a rifle yesterday.

For about 34 years, I've had a Rem 700 Mountain Rifle KS in .300 Win Mag. from their custom shop, lightweight barrel, 40X trigger, custom throat. Judging from the remaining powder, H380 and IMR 7828, about 630-670ish rounds went thru the thing. With scope and fully loaded (4 rounds) it didn't quite make it to 8 lbs. I thought little of it when I was younger, but now...

Last fall, went out into the freshly mowed hayfield and from standing, not to much disagreement with the recoil, but from the bench, I knew it was time. When I dug out the receipt for the gun I was suprised by the price, just under $750, including tax and the 10%. Got a little more than paid, but in todays Dollars.

Now there's an empty space in the cabinet. What sould I do?
I ordered a case of optimism from Amazon, but porch pirates beat me to it. Still, chin-up.

What's next is to complete that project rifle. That's how it will be when I see these two who are next in line. I have plenty perhaps too many unfinished projects. Yeah, with some it's just time for them to go live with someone else.

Well papajim2jordan would need to sell 3 rifles @ $700 plus to buy the Ruger Marlin. It’s going for well over $2200 now. That’s insane. I never knew there where that many .45-70 shooters…
