Ammo Boxes

Well I was amazed to see these had not gone up since I bought them last year.
They still are pricey and I can't seem to find any used ones from the military. I guess they are keeping their used ones. Used to be 5 bucks at a Military surplus store.
Comparable prices around the net but you gotta pay shipping.

Yeah they sell out quickly.

In preparation for our change of address last year, I bought a small mound of MTM ammo boxes so I could transport almost all the ammo to the interim storage site in one trip with relative safety, and then to the house. I managed to empty a couple of the boxes to fire-resistant safes, but those filled quickly and I still have some boxes stacked in a dark corner away from prying eyes.
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

Haha … when I moved last summer I had one end of the storage unit filled with guns, ammo cans/crates & boxes of reloading supplies. Had the movers drop the gun safes off at the end.

My movers would only move the safe if there were no firearms in it. I was okay with that--you might understand that I'm a bit picky with who handles my firearms.

We had a small local company "organize" our stuff prior to staging for the pictures that were on Zillow. This outfit is quite left of center, and didn't have a problem with us having firearms, but wouldn't touch firearms. They were willing to move ammo, but I didn't have them do that, either.

I haven't gotten involved in reloading--too much else on my daily plate--but I could see myself having some Zen time with it. I used to be a bicycle shop service manager, and really enjoyed building bicycle wheels, and think the attention to detail would be similar.

And, of course, since I've used this line many times over the last decade: "Change of address is a MOVING experience!"

I think that’s SOP for movers they won’t move guns or ammo unless there’s some sort of exception: ie Permanent Change of Station for a service member. Even back in those days, I moved them myself - it was much easier Becuase I only had a few firearms and a few boxes of ammo.

They did help me move my ammo crates, boxes & reloading supplies to my own truck to move. I had already moved my firearms into my truck. If we move across country I am going to have to thin the heard quite a bit. The long guns take up too much room. You can get 20 or so odd pistols into a couple backpacks and they are much less obvious. A long gun case looks like a long gun case. I always tip movers well.

When we moved to our new house I had to move the guns and ammo. The Movers helped unload it out of my SUV and into the new house. I have the side opening 50 cal. Boxes that were my Dads from the early 1950s Matagorda island gun range where he was the NCO-IC. Also have some end opening ammo boxes I found at an antique/junk shop. They were a cheap price.
