Trump Media auditor and business partner go silent as Russia money laundering probe revealed

An auditor responsible for overseeing Trump Media's books is ducking calls seeking comment on a pair of loans totaling $8 million that have fallen under investigation as possible money laundering.

Top executives at Donald Trump's social media raised concerns about the loans from Paxum Bank and ES Family Trust, which both are linked to an ally of Russian president Vladimir Putin, and it remains unclear whether the SEC-licensed broker-dealer who sourced the loans or auditor BF Borders completed any due diligence under anti-money laundering and “Know Your Customer” requirements, reported The Guardian.
The payments came as Trump Media, which owns the Trump Social platform, was running out of money in December 2021 and February 2022 as its planned merger with the blank check company DWAC was halted by an SEC investigation, and top executives at the fledgling tech company were so concerned about the origins of the loans they considered returning the money.

Wouldn’t be a surprise if the money is linked to Russia. Just another nail for Indictment.

Seeing Trump charged with at least one felony and forced to be finger-printed will be, finally, the first step to the American justice system declaring him to be a felon and a criminal. But he needs to be charged with insurrection and blocked, under Paragraph 3 of the 14th Amendment, from EVER holding any Federal or State office ever again. Prison would be the cherry on top.

Trump is now saying that he will be arrested on Tuesday.
Former President Donald Trump said Saturday he expects to be arrested in connection with the investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney next week and called for protests as New York law enforcement prepares for a possible indictment.

In a social media post on Saturday, Trump, referring to himself, said the “leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday of next week.”

“Protest, take our nation back,” he wrote.
A spokesperson for Trump said Saturday that the former President has not received a notification from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office regarding any potential indictment, but was “rightfully highlighting his innocence” in his post. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office declined to comment on Saturday.
Trump’s US Secret Service detail would deliver him to the Manhattan district attorney’s office for fingerprinting and then taking mugshots in offices of the district attorney’s detective squad. As is customary in cases where a defendant is allowed to voluntarily surrender, after arrest processing, the former president would be brought directly to an arraignment before a judge where he would likely be released on his own recognizance.

100-Plus Foreign Gifts To Donald Trump Remain Unaccounted For, Say Democrats

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump’s White House has failed to report more than 100 gifts from foreign nations worth more than a quarter-million dollars, and federal officials have been unable to find a life-size painting of Trump given by the president of El Salvador as well as golf clubs from the prime minister of Japan, according to a report Friday from House Democrats.

Among the unreported items are 16 gifts from Saudi Arabia worth more than $45,000 in all, including a dagger valued at up to $24,000, and 17 presents from India that include expensive cufflinks, a vase and a $4,600 model of the Taj Mahal, says the report from Democrats on the House Oversight Committee.

Gifts above several hundred dollars that foreign officials give to the president, vice president and their families are required under the Foreign Gifts and Decorations Act to be reported to the State Department.

The report from House Democrats, citing State Department records, says the number of gifts reported by Trump and his family are lower than the number disclosed by previous presidents.

All told, the report says, though the White House did report some gifts to State between 2017 and 2019, it failed to report more than 100 foreign gifts with a total value of over $250,000.
“Today’s preliminary findings suggest again the Trump Administration’s brazen disregard for the rule of law and its systematic mishandling of large gifts from foreign governments, including many lavish personalized gifts that vastly exceed the statutory limit in value but were never reported — some that are still missing today,” Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, said in a statement.

He also said that the committee would “remain committed to following the facts to determine the extent to which former President Trump broke the law or violated the Constitution when he failed to report gifts and took possession of valuable items without paying the fair market price for them.”

Yup, ankle monitor is good. Being it's New York they'll probably require him to surrender his firearms and his passport and likely restrict his travel, so no rallies.

First ex-president with a mug shot, that'll be a first. Bet NYC is bringing in semis loaded with concrete barriers to surround the state court building and DA's office. It's NYC so this will be a multiple ring circus, they always like the drama. Someone's probably writing a stage play about the Trump trial and maybe someone will write an opera about it.

Turd is asking his idiot followers for another insurrection should he be indicted. I say bring it on!! I frankly don't believe the majority of people give a fly fig whether he is indicted or not and really could not care less what happens to this POS. The deadhead die hards are getting few and far between.

Turd is coming to Texas for his first rally as it's safe territory. I expect should he be indicted for multiple crimes, Abbott will given him sanctuary somewhere in the Panhandle in a "spider hole" like Saddam. FDT

The mans insane.
But even though payback has long been part of his public persona, Mr. Trump’s speech on Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference was striking for how explicitly he signaled that any return trip to the White House would amount to a term of spite.

“In 2016, I declared, ‘I am your voice,’” Mr. Trump told the crowd in National Harbor, Md. “Today, I add: I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution.”

He repeated the phrase for emphasis: “I am your retribution.”

Framing the 2024 election as a dire moment in an us-versus-them struggle — “the final battle,” as he put it — Mr. Trump charged forward in an uncharted direction for American politics, talking openly about leveraging the power of the presidency for political reprisals.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,”

In a monumental ruling Friday, a federal judge ordered Donald Trump attorney Evan Corcoran to provide additional testimony as part of an investigation into the former president’s handling of classified documents, a source familiar with the matter told CNN. Corcoran has the potential to become one of the most crucial witnesses in special counsel Jack Smith’s criminal investigation into possible mishandling of classified records after the Trump presidency and obstruction of justice. District Judge Beryl Howell said in an order under seal that Justice Department prosecutors have met the threshold for the crime-fraud exception for Corcoran, the source said. The scope of what DOJ will be allowed to ask, however, was not immediately clear. Trump’s team is expected to appeal and ask for the judge’s order to be stayed while legal proceedings play out.
https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/17/politics ... index.html

As of yesterday, Beryl Howell is no longer chief judge of the US District Court for DC, it's now James Boasberg. She's been overseeing all of these grand juries and don't know if she'll continue or if Boasberg assumes jurisdiction. Howell was seen as pro-prosecutor.

Elise Stefanik slammed for parroting Donald Trump's debunked 'illegal leak' screed

United States Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-New York), the chair of the GOP Conference in the House of Representatives, suggested on Saturday that former President Donald Trump is a victim of political persecution by "corrupt Leftist prosecutors" who are expected to indict Trump as soon as this upcoming week.

That includes Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis, and Justice Department Special Counsel Jack Smith - all of whom are investigating Trump for an array of alleged crimes.

"This is unAmerican and the radical Left has reached a dangerous new low of Third World countries. Knowing they cannot beat President Trump at the ballot box, the Radical Left will now follow the lead of Socialist dictators and reportedly arrest President Trump, the leading Republican candidate for President of the United States," Stefanik wrote in an email to Trump's Save America Political Action Committee donors.

"This is just a continuation of the disgraceful and unconstitutional pattern going back to the illegal Russian collusion hoax to attempt to silence and suppress the will of the voters who support President Trump and the America First Movement," Stefanik continued. "What these corrupt Leftist prosecutors like Alvin Bragg and their Socialist allies fail to understand is that America First Patriots have never been so energized to exercise their constitutional rights to peacefully organize and VOTE at the ballot box to save our great republic."

Kevin McCarthy buried for new plan to tamper with Trump investigations

Historian Michael Beschloss dropped the hammer on House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Saturday morning after McCarthy announced he was directing the GOP heads of the "relevant" House committees to run interference for Donald Trump as he faces multiple criminal investigations.

Trump created a stir early Saturday morning when he claimed on Truth Social that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday — then encouraged his fans in his all-caps post: "PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!"

That led Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to rant on Twitter, "Republicans in Congress MUST subpoena these communists and END this! We have the power to do it and we also have the power to DEFUND their salaries and departments! Enough of this!"

Moments later, McCarthy, the putative leader of the House Republicans, tweeted, "Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump. I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions."
https://www.rawstory.com/kevin-mccarthy-dirgraceful/

McCarthy is trying to play the Hermann Göring to TOS's lousy imitation of der Führer.

If TOS is indicted this might just make him the martyr, he needs to be for his followers to react, and cause a political crisis in our government.

I've seen posts from right-wing-nut-job-types that suggest forming a "human moat" around wherever TOT is hiding out, and defending him against whoever arrives to haul him to court (even comments that observe that common rifle caliber ammunition will disable a helicopter). Such actions would lead to a fair bit of bloodshed, as I'm sure the Secret Service has considered such a possibility and I'm sure that the Secret Service, required by either law or tradition to protect a former occupier of the People's White House, has a plan in place for such an eventuality.

Given my personal views on a lot of law-encroachment types, an exchange of projectiles could thin both herds and not be mourned. I recognize that my views don't scale to the whole forum, though. I want TOT to suffer a LOT of accountability for what he tried to do and for what he actually did. I don't want bloodshed, but if it makes it harder for the others who follow TOT's lead to succeed, I see the value with the loss.

And I've had enough alcohol for one night. I'm having trouble articulating my thoughts in reasonable ways.
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

Exactly. The insurrection charge-- and conviction-- is critical.

They say he could be president even if convicted of something else.. How would that work? He runs the country from jail?

Personally I think it would have been better if Fani Williis' Atlanta case or Jack Lynch's documents and Capitol Riot case had indicted Trump first and went to trial. The Stormy Daniels payoff has been around for years and Trump could have been prosecuted as soon as Biden was sworn into office. But it's happening now at the start of the 2024 campaign and Republicans see it as a political prosecution. The case could turn out to be a bunch of misdemeanor convictions instead of solid felony convictions.

The outrage and hate machines on both sides are rolling into place and as usual we're providing a major entertainment event for the world. The world would be very boring if America didn't exist, the circus comes to town every week in the US.
