Have some moon clips on order as well as some carry ammo for my 642. Looking to get recommendations for something to carry an extra one or two on the belt. I'll be pocket carrying the revolver with a Mika pocket holster. I know a lot of the leather products out there will print a bit but that's ok for my area and my typically dress.
Thanks!
Re: Moon Clip Pouch/Holder for EDC/CCW
2I have revolvers that are cut for moon clips and unmodified ones that take speed-loaders. Moonclips get bent out of shape in anything other than a solid formed, belt pouch. I don’t find that those are comfortable for EDC or conceal well. Therefore, they don’t work for me in an EDC environment as opposed to how great they are for USPSA revolver division competition.
Given that I have both - I prefer speed loaders for reloads when carrying a revolver. A 642 is very light when loaded and disappears on the belt. I buy jeans with extra pockets and can comfortably place several speed loaders in there. They are a little pricier than cheap ass jeans I buy from Costco but they hold up and are super comfortable. Added benefit is if I am carrying an auto loader pistol the pants can carry all but the biggest mags very well & concealed.
Otherwise, I buy cheap nylon speed loader pouches off eBay from China that go on the belt. Weigh next to nothing and conceal very well with 5 or 6 shot HKS speedloaders.
