I found out this week that if BATFE rejects an efiled form, you get to start completely over. Gone are the days of correcting forms. You just get to start over.
It took about an hour but I refiled my e-form 4 for my "Free" SiCo Warlock yesterday. Current wait times per BATFE are as follows:
eform 1 estimate: average time of 60 days
paper form 1 estimate: 60 days
eform form 4 estimate: 180 days
paper form 4 estimate: 365 days
No variance for individuals vs trust.
Take these estimates with a massive grain of salt.
Re: Efiled fun
2If you check out the reported application and approval times people are posting on the NfA Reddit sub, it’s apparent that eForm 4s are generally coming back between 250-265 days.
Anyhow, if you got rejected, it’s reported there that emailing the new filing’s control number to the originally rejecting examiner firstname.lastname @ atf. gov has resulted in quick 1-7 day turnarounds in some cases —just explain what happened. Worth a try.
