Just looking at the SPLC Hate Map, these groups like the Sun Belt. I'll bet if you compared the number of groups and unemployment rates in states there would be a correlation.

In California we've got white supremacists, black separatists, anti-immigrant, anti-gay and ultra traditional religious. Our gun laws in CA are really a response to gangs and hate groups the rest of us suffer because of it.

Totally. That whole fiasco about having to buy handgun ammo through FFL's was supposedly to stop gang members from being able to buy bulk ammo online. The problem is that most gang bangers don't really care about hoping in a car to head to a neighboring state to buy a bunch of ammo, whereas the average resident works, or doesn't have that time. We end up getting slammed and no real security is gained.
