Re: Wet-tumbling with the National Metallic rotary case tumbler

LOL! Actually, someone did just that with a clothes dryer and some towels to help with the noise. It worked, but it was still noisy.

I baked them at 200 degrees F. for about 45 minutes. Got 'em nice and dry. But they're still not as bright, shiny, "new-looking" as when I dry-tumble. Actually, they have a very slight lavender tint to them. Maybe that's an indication that I'm using too much Lemi-Shine; I remember reading that somewhere. Maybe half a .45 ACP-case full of Lemi-Shine, vs. a whole case full, would be better. I had already reduced the amount of Dawn soap. Perhaps I should reduce that some as well.

On the other hand, the cases are clean inside and out, including the primer pockets, as expected. Also, I can do over 1,000 of them at once, whereas 350 is the max when dry-tumbling. Finally, lead-dust exposure is minimized. So, given those benefits, I can live with the "not quite new looking" appearance of the brass.

Still going to continue tweaking the recipe.

Ha! :-D Any other politician should work fine as well (Schumer, Pelosi, McConnell, etc.). I'm betting those three would just melt the brass from the temperature of the air. :-D
