Keltec KSG questions

1
Somehow, the YouTube feed on one of my computers gave me a "five best shotguns for home defense" video. One of the guns listed was the Keltec KSG.

I haven't researched much about the brand or the model--haven't gotten hooked on shotguns yet.

I recognize that there are a lot of pros and cons to any shotgun, especially when choices for home defense are considered, and the overall length of this one seems to be a factor in the choice for the video mentioned. Their designs seem a little "out there," though. I realize that's not necessarily a bad thing, but I still wonder.

So, in short, is that thing really any good? Are there better choices, and why?
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

There have been a few reviews of bullpup shotguns across the intertubes. This one came to mind.

This isn't the Keltec, but a different bullpup reviewed by one of our own - I stumbled on LGC through the BBTI blog.

My takeaway, given that I'm not a shotgunner, is that the bullpup configuration is ideal for close-quarters combat in enclosed spaces but there are reasons it isn't used for traditional purposes like hunting. Seems to be impossible to put a good trigger on one, for instance - just a consequence of the physical distance between trigger and receiver versus material properties of the linkage. Any flex or compression will just make the trigger mushy. Also, you have your face right next to the receiver.

Kel-Tec is known for their innovations. And for all the 3rd party after market upgrades. I have/had 2 keltecs (not KSG) and they work. They each did what their supposed to do. On one, I think about putting several hundred dollars of upgrades on. The other I decided it just wasn't what I wanted.

As far as the KSG, I've had numerous tactical daydreams of how it could be loaded. Each side with it own kind of ammo. There is the buckshot/slug combo, buckshot/non (less) lethal, buckshot/rubber ball buckshot, and my favorite, buckshot/Dragon's Breath! Disclaimer: firing non or less lethal projectiles may/will get you in as much legal trouble as shooting buckshot. Consult your attorney before using these loads!!!

So now that I've rambled on for a bit, maybe someone with KSG experience can shed more light on the subject.

I picked up a Maverick 88, converted it to hold mini-shells. It holds 13 rounds of mini-buckshot. Perfect for around the house. I'm not much for defensive shotguns. If I need a long gun, I'd rather grab a rifle.

Tactical shotguns are nice but you have to know your choke an shot pattern because of collateral damage.
Being that thing has a very short barrel seems like a huge scatter.
Course is great for onslaught of the living dead.
I have a Rem 870 radical. Heh heh
It stays at the front of the safe along with 2 ARs.
