Whats your Go To Gun Grease?

1
Putting together my AR I watched a few videos of good ole Larry Potterfield building an AR and he was using copious amounts of a white synthetic grease on parts.
I mean dang, is he selling grease or knowledge?
I do like his videos. He cuts to the chase.
So what grease do you use?

I had some lithium grease somewhere round here. It's pretty old so guess I'll get some new grease.
Guess I better pull my grip and grease the detent and spring before I do the buffer tube. grrr

It's going to be nice to have two AR 15's that if need be swap parts when end of days hits. Plus I have an extra trigger parts kit.

With respect to this grease, I forgot to mention I also use it on the 1911 and the MKII. With that artist's brush I can put just a thin film right where it's supposed to go. Too much actually will trap dirt and cause unnecessary abrasion. A little dab'll do ya, as it were.

Brian Enos Slide-Glide (light or standard viscosity) Gun Grease, or Lubriplate SFL Gun Grease. The latter recommended by Grant Cunningham.

LUCAS X-TRA HEAVY DUTY
Not the little tube of "Gun Grease". It's a rip off.
The grease gun tube at local auto store for 1/20 the price. It's dark green color.
I've used both and They both seem to be the same thing.
A quick search shows
Extreme Duty Gun Grease 1 oz $12.72
X-Tra Heavy Duty Grease 14.5 oz $6.71
I've been using it for all my guns and everything else around the house and farm for many years now.

Based solely on color, that sounds like the Phil's grease I've been using on my bikes since 1988. Still on the same tube! I don't regrease my hubs and headset very often, obviously. I rarely ride them, lately...

Jumping in a little late here, as I am looking to get away from rem oil and doing some research.

I came across this article on gun oils (they do include their favorite grease) and they also listed the Lucas Extreme Duty Grease as their number 1.

https://gununiversity.com/best-gun-oil/

I have tried a few things and I am leaning on just using the big tube of mobile 1 synthetic grease I have in the garage. anybody think if reason why that wouldn't work?

Nahhhhh....I used (and still use) Breakfree CLP on stuff that needs oil and on the exterior of the guns as a wipe down and cleaner/solvent. I have guns that have been cleaned, lubed and protected by Breakfree or over 40 years. Not one speck of rust.

True story - back in 2007 I was making custom cutlery in my basement shop. The end of that came so quickly that I had half a dozen freshly ground but unfinished blades. Fresh ground steel will rust right before your eyes especially in the Midwest Summer Humidity. I wiped those blades down with Breakfree and hung them on nails and they are still right there, rust free, to this day.
