An extraordinary woman. R.I.P. Lt. Uhura!
(Wonderful article on her life BTW, worth the read.)

Yup. She and Walter Koenig stood up with George Takei at his wedding several years ago, and both went to Koenig when his son died during the Vancouver Olympics.
Not sure about Koenig, but both Nichols and Takei detested Shatner as a selfish, shameless, upstager and line-stealer. Doohan truly hated Shatner.

In the "Only the Good Die Young" category, Shatner, at 91, is still glib, with full voice, and none of the aging signs almost every gets at that age--slower speech, maybe even a little slurred, voice box changes. None of that. He could easily pass for a robust 70.

We sometimes forget that the original Star Trek TV series aired in 1968. Even though William Shatner is still making commercials and still looks young, he's 91 years old. The cast has been slowly dying off, the reality of life on earth. RIP Lt Uhura !

Yes. The girl from "Gamesters of Triskelion", played by Angelique Pettyjohn and was also a go-go dancer in "The Odd Couple" died at 48 in 1992.

The cast of M*A*S*H as well. One of the youngest was Marcia Strassman, at 66, who played Nurse Cutler.
Of the stars, Wayne Rogers (Trapper), Larry Linville (Frank), David Ogden Stiers (Charles), William Christopher(Father Mulcahy), MacLean Stevenson(Henry), and Harry Morgan(Potter) are all gone, leaving just Alan Alda(Hawkeye), Gary Burghoff(Radar), Jamie Farr(Klinger), and Loretta Swit(Hot Lips). Others like Johnny Haymer(Zale), Hamilton Camp, Ed Winter(Flagg), Alan Arbus(SIdney), and all the actors who played generals are gone.
