I know I have asked before but now I really need some advise. setting here feeling sorry for my self looking at my left hand it is twice the size of my right, just got my walter pk380 out and was going go outside and shoot it. I cant jack it back too put one in the chamber (damn it) about too go fucken nuts. Dr pulled the pin out Monday and told me I will not be able to do anything with left hand for at least 8 more weeks (shit) so I got too by a revolver just no ifs ands or buts about it. What do I get ? remember right hand is also weak want something I can carry and practice with. can't stand too much muzzle flip but I do need something that will protect. I trust that someone can help me.
Will have too trade my walters in on a good revolver so can't afford a real expensive revolver but good quality concealable and powerful for protection. thanks ahead of time th Irishman.

Of course Smith and Colt have some good offerings, as always, but have you looked at Charter Arms? They make some very nice, and very affordable revolvers. Whatever you buy, I would suggest looking into a good trigger job, to ease the effort required to use the damn thing! :cool2: Other folks who are more up on revolvers will probably have more info, but I have heard some interesting things about the .327 (magnum?), I have heard that it can give close to .357 performance, without all the recoil... but I am no expert here.

Rossi makes a good .38 for a decent price. the shorter the barrel the more felt recoil. Charters are OK for the price. I'd mail you a loaner relvolver if it wasn't a federal crime.

You must have really torn up your hand. Do you do work that's hard on the hands or is it just too many birthdays?

The Beretta Tomcat .32 ACP has a tip- up barrel you use to load the 8th round- no racking the slide. But since it is a pocket pistol and really compact the recoil may be too much for your condition.
Oh, and they cost $400.00+ when new.
Like it was posted earlier a .327 Mag may be your best bet. If the recoil is still painfull, you can load .32 H & R Magnum in it, or even .32 S & W Long. I'm not arguing that these are great defensive calibers, but its better than not having a firearm at all.

Affirmative. I know from experience that the Tomcat is a nasty, uncomfortable little bastard to shoot. Horrible with one hand and if you use two look out for the slide.

Go to the gun shop and dry fire an LCR. Very, very good DA trigger, 7-8lbs, smooth and nice break. Gun is small, thin for a revolver, 13oz for the .38 model, 17oz for the .357 model, has the gel pad in the grip to take shock, and with standard power .38 is very controllable. I bought the original .38 model, and my arthritic wife has been the happy owner it for quite a while now. I got her Federal Hydra-Shok for it, fairly easy to find.

Get some Bianchi Speed Strips for reloads, very small - or get a speedloader from Ruger. Check Youtube for reloading how to's.

What about a charging handle? I've seen them for Glocks, but haven't seen them for Walther's.
It as to be out there, or at least a high quality fastener that can be re-purposed.

Sturdy sights + sturdy belt is your friend.

I've seen a million and one "one handed drills" on Personal Defense TV on Outdoor channel (or was it Sportsman?). Basically the drill involves racking the slide on your belt by catching the rear sight on the belt and pressing down. I've never tried it, personally, and think it seems a bit dangerous.

As for inexpensive but effective wheel gun without too much recoil:

4 inch:

2 inch:

$190 for a .38 special revolver that by all reports is extremely reliable. It doesn't have any bells and whistles. Just a basic .38 special revolver with either a 4 inch or 2 inch barrel. Fixed sights. The 4 inch gun is going to be easier to shoot because of the longer sight radius, nicer grip, and being slightly heavier. It's tougher to conceal though.
