Personally, I'll never use it.

Had some difficulty with it once. Squibs. A few years before Covid.

I wasn't shooting it.
Range ammunition.

Rolandson is a Range Officer and has plenty of experience with different kinds of pistols and ammo. True that some pistols have weaker firing pin/springs... Still some less-expensive ammo is fine for punching paper but may not be ideal for daily carry.

Well thats a clearer explanation, thanks.
I've never shot Freedom ammo before and it seems like this is a higher grade ammo, so called "extreme" and Freedom Munitions looks to be selling it that way.
My LCP .380 runs dang near anything, flat nose, FMJ or HP. I tend to stick to Winchester or MagTech 95 gr FMJFN
Think I'll bring the PPKs with me to NM and give her a go before she becomes a safe queen.
Is there anyone here out there near Taos?

Let's just say that 6 or 7 years ago I encountered issues that were not operator or mechanics related. Issues that appeared suddenly and were limited in scope to a single "source." That is, "diet" issues. When that source was removed from the equation the issues ceased. And fortunately, due to individuals present being knowledgeable, nothing of a catastrophic nature occurred...
But it could have.

Here, read about it when it happened...

And yes, the remaining 19,650 rounds "new" (not reloads) or so were removed from service.

Let's Be Careful Out There...!
Figured, as long as I'm on the subject, I might as well provide a link to a related post...

Freedom Munitions has a mixed reputation, I have used about 10,000 of their reloads without issue, but have heard second hand accounts of issues that could damage a firearm if true.

I still buy from them if they are the only reasonable price at the time, but often you can get from a reputable manufacturer for about the same price.

I tend to defer to comments and advice like rolandson’s, especially when I know their background. I have not intentionally sought out freedom ammunitions. I may have a box somewhere, if I do, I will be practicing my preparedness like always. It is definitely an ammo I would not trust for a friend to shoot in my guns.

I've shot 1000's of Freedom 9mm FMJ, in multiple pistols through the years, with one fail to fire that fired on the second try in my modded CZ SP01.

Good inexpensive range ammo IMO!

I have not shot any .380 though.
