CCI Shotshell pistol rounds

I've seen a couple packages of these at one of the local box stores, and was curious about them. I was thinking about asking here, did a search on the CCI web site, and decided they weren't good for my expected uses. I don't have a vermin problem where I live. The warnings alone tell me to avoid them in a semi-auto pistol. If I had a revolver and a vermin problem, it might be a different issue.

The next day, my YouTube feed shows me a two year old video of a guy demonstrating these things in 9mm. In short, the video confirmed for me that leaving them on the store shelf was a good choice. I'm not even sure they'd do much damage to vermin at fifteen yards, although they would at least induce some pain...

The video, in case you are curious enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6ty4pLJfT0
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

Those are for very small critters at very close range, snakes, rats etc. In my experience, most snakes take a minimum of 2 shots to kill a copperhead, and I like 3 shots for a diamondback (just 'cause it makes me feel better). 9mm is pretty marginal, but will kill small critters out to about 15 feet (not yards). I have found .22 mag in CCI's is pretty awesome on snakes because it uses smaller shot.

The shot cartridges will actually work in some semi-autos believe it or not. Typically doesn't appreciate the sub-compact pistols, but a full size with a lighter recoil spring will often cycle them. My 1911 will function them in 9mm and .45 ACP.

At 15 yards you might as well shoot blanks, which is pretty much what these thingy’s become at such distances... noise makers.

I couldn't kill a pigeon at 6 feet with the .22 ones from my Ruger Wrangler.

I've since moved on to my 5mm pellet pistol. Goes clear thru 'em at 15'. Much cheaper per shot, too.

For rattlers, strategically placed shovels work best, and clean up is easier.

Damn! That’s awesome.

How many grains of Winchester 321 powder do you use?

Are those standard .410 plastic wad/cups?

Are those copper discs/caps also standard for .410 shotshell loads?

Have any recipe ideas for .45LC?

308 brass. 6.2g of W231. The shot cup is a Remmington SP410, trimmed flush with case mouth. Overshot disk is a .35 cal. gas check, but have used a number ot things punched from cardstock or plastic. #9 shot. Just at 1200 fps. Reliably feed/cycle action of autoloader.. Not for much more than a three or so foot snake at a somewhat more comfortable distance than garden tool.

Somewhere I have info on straight wall revolver stuff but never had much luck. I think the shallow rifling of a the automatic helps as patterning is much better.

Middle pic is of Speer .44 shot capsules, hold more shot but pattern is not so good as with the .45.
I ordered a case of optimism from Amazon, but porch pirates beat me to it. Still, chin-up.
