Carly Melin, a DFLer running in a special election for a Minnesota House seat, has criticized an attack brochure paid for by the state Republican Party. It shows a hunter pointing a shotgun and the words "Take your best shot."
I had to look up what a "DFLer" is.

politician B to Politician A: Oh yeah? Take your best shot.

While I agree that the phrase itself is not directly a call to violence as much as it is a challenge to make a move, the hunter pointing the shotgun is really stupid given the recent events in Arizona. Words have meaning and when linked to images that meaning carries weight. While a fairly rational person would not ascribe the add as an incitement, it is used to get an emotional charge and that charge can be interpreted with deadly consequences by those who are only slightly less stable.

The asshole and his team know what they are doing, and if they don't then they are too stupid to be trusted with political power.

Anytime someone wants to get away with saying something exquisitely stupid, they always harp on the "Political Correctness is ruining ...." bandwagon.

That is a cop out.

The point it to think before you say things and if you say something stupid and offensive then be prepared to be called out on it. It isn't policital correctness it is having basic decency and a little bit of intellectual honesty.
