Why not 1-o'clock carry?

1
Oops. Please read the thread title as "11 o'clock."

Appendix carry, 1-o'clock for righties, seems to be the most popular IWB placement. Why not 11-o'clock? I just got a Desantis Sof-tuck 2.0 for my lil' Bersa. Put it on for the first time and went for an almost 6-mile walk around down. Pretty comfy except it made the left leg of my boxer-briefs ride up a little.

Photos show shirt untucked (as I actually wore it), tucked just for comparison, and uncovered. Thoughts?

If I think of strong side carry for a right-handed shooter being 3:00 or 4:00 or 4:30 (right hip area), then appendix carry would seem to be 1:00 (just to the right of centerline), with 12:00 being centered.

If I am reading your description correctly, you seem to be saying that your pistol is just LEFT of the centerline, instead of just to the right (where the appendix is), which would then be 11:00.

Pedantry aside, what it sounds like you are doing is carrying in a cross draw position. Your pictures, if taken looking in a mirror, seem to confirm this.

I haven't tried that with the abdominal IWB holster I have for my P10S (although I'm more likely to carry a P07 any more, the holster I have for that one is better suited to strong side carry). I think the cant is wrong for me to get a good initial grip over there at 11:00--I think I would want the butt of my grip to be a tiny bit lower than the upper end of the grip, but that's just me.

If it works well for you, then by all means, do that.
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

Yep, got my clocks mixed up! Edited OP to fix. Thanks for proofreading!

To each their own. I’ve been carrying at 4:30 for 13 years, mostly OWB. I find it comfortable in almost any circumstance, and I carry all day every day. I this point I wouldn’t mess with muscle memory either, though sometimes I will carry a second pistol in a crossdraw.

I tried AIWB, experimenting throughout the 11:00 to 1:30 range, but it just didn’t work for me. However, I think the 11:00 position would work well for a right-handed person if you drive around a lot. It seems perfectly positioned to draw defensively from a potential carjacker I would think. If it would’ve worked for me, I probably would’ve carried at the 11:00 since I drive around a lot. As it is, I prefer to carry between 2:30 and 4:30.

Appendix carry works best if you spend most of your time driving rather than walking, and when you don’t have to tuck your shirt in.

My preference is 3 o’clock for winter months and 4 o’clock for summer months. I don’t drive a lot, and when I do, my 1.5 ton car is a much more potent weapon than my 1.5 lb pistol.
Glad that federal government is boring again.

Sometimes I carry my LCP @ 1 - 2 o'clock using an IWB holster clipped into my right front pocket. It's virtually right next to my hand.
But I never sit in my car seat with any gun holstered because the seat belt is usually in the way. So I tuck mine in between the seats

Yes, I wore my Bersa at 11:00 in the car recently, and it felt good. Agreed that, as a right-hander, it would probably be the best draw sitch for the car. Except for sweeping your femoral artery! Which is why I like the long trigger pull of the Bersa. I wouldn't wear anything with a shorter trigger stroke that way.
