I have always used the Lyman electronic. Seems accurate enough, and once you get the hang of using it, its pretty consistent. When using the electronic ones, you have to be consistent with your technique. Best to take a good 5-6 measurements and average it out if you really want to get as precise as possible. The electronic ones are just 1000% more convenient than the actual weights. Over the years of using the Lyman, I have gained the ability to accurately estimate trigger pull weights now (I'm a gunsmith), and I rarely pick it up anymore now that I have a well educated finger.

sikacz - I have the following older functioning model complete with carry pouch and instructions. Make me an offer I can't refuse. It works fine, albeit wouldn't read my S&W VE9/40 Sigma's as it only goes to 12 lbs. LOL

I suppose this wouldn’t work on a Nagant! LoL.

Until you get to well tuned DA revolvers, the Lyman gauge will be rather worthless. Even good revolvers often exceed 12lbs of pull in DA. It's just that most of the really modern DA revolvers are so smooth you don't realize you're pulling 12-15lbs. Will be fine for measuring single action pulls.

So my Nagant is as good as a Smith & Wesson! LoL. I suppose knowing that it’s 12 plus is a measure too. Probably most of my DA revolvers are above. Would be interesting to see.

Well, I have a gauge! I’ll run a test on a few of my guns. I want to check the S&W 49, but I know it will exceed 12lbs. I’m going to retest after getting a spring kit.
