AZ Gov tells Bloomberg to mind his own business

Or something like that. Of course, the article makes the erroneous statement that:

"In releasing the evidence, the mayor argued that Congress needed to work to find a legislative fix to the gun-show loopholes that permitted the proliferation of weapons such as the one that alleged Tucson shooter Jared Lee Loughner used last month."

Loughner apparently got his weapons after passing a background check, and not at a gun show. While everyone knows that I think the 'private seller' angle at gun shows is abused by some shitheads, this kind of mis-statement, whether based out of ignorance or intentionally misleading, does not help your case and only provides ammunition, so to speak, for people to use against you. Stop trying to link this deranged kid's actions to gun shows. Focus on reforming gun show regulations if you want, but on their own merit.

I went to a gun show today in the LA area and I was underwhelmed. This was the first day and attendance looked good but because of California gun laws there were very few gun dealers. There were a few vendors with Confederate, Nazis and "Don't Tread on Me" flags and one with an Obama "white face" picture, but I didn't hear any winger politics. Sometime when the weather is cool, I'll have to drive over to Arizona and go to a "real gun show".

A gun show isn't really anywhere I would want to go. I prefer doing business with gun shops or online. I am not one for interaction on anything other than, "This is what I want, good price, good deal, thanks bye now"

As High desert said, gun shows in California are basically just traveling gun shops due to the laws here. All private sales have to go through a FFL unless they are to immediate family and they all require the 10 day wait period so its kind of a waste of time.

I think that private seller should have access to NICS and should be required to run a check prior to selling. The database needs to be improved. That said, Bloomberg is a complete ass, but then again so is Brewer.
