My Bersa Thunder gets the Winchester PDX ammo. Feeds well and no problems.
The little Kahr CW 380 gets the Ruger ARX Polycase Ammo. Makes it easy to handle and I never feel under-gunnned when carrying. ୧( ಠ Д ಠ )୨

Re: The Best Two .380 Carry Loads?
27I arrived at the same conclusion by the opposite route. Gel tests of .380 often seem to give erratic expansion anyway, so I figured Winchester White Box flat-points were good enough and cheaper, regardless of what they went through en route. Elmer Keith devotes are always so enthralled with the flat nose of an SWC (or the WFP bullets that other guy designed, who's name escapes me now) being damaging, so are flat bullets NOT damaging when shot from a small semiauto, too? I realize the meplat is smaller than the revolver cartridges, but not that much smaller than a .357 SWC.tonguengroover wrote: Fri Nov 05, 2021 1:23 pm Yeah, barrier penetration. Especially with JHP's which get clogged with heaving clothing material. Which is why I only load flat nosed FMJ.

28These.
Lucky I stumbled on them over at Cheaper than Dirt. Quick shipping and wrapped up good in the box.

29Good video here about Underwood Extreme Defender and various other .380 JHP performance. I sent him the Underwood ammo, BTW.

30Interesting. I bet Paul eats lots of ribs.
That video tells me that JHP's just don't work well in .380 acp and your wasting your money. As I said, I think JHP gets filled with clothing material and won't expand. Pretty sure he has another video proving that point.
And the Extreme Defender may penetrate too far, in and out so beware whats behind the target.
My Win white box 95 gr FMJ flat nose has a muzzle velocity of 955 and 945 at 5 yards or so they say.

I think Extreme Defender doesn't over penetrate, as shown by Pauls' 'meat target'..Extreme Penetrator..yes, those do for sure, even in .380..

I was at an Ace hardware checking the ammo supply. All they had was Extreme Penetrator in .40. A guy was asking the clerk what Extreme Penetrator meant. Both didn't know. I said through and through. lol
