Yeah revolvers are 19th century clockwork.
Part of the reason for their purported reliability is we’ve had almost 2 Century’s to mess around with the mechanisms. Personally, I don’t take mechanical complexity for granted, and ensure any firearm (especially a carry or hunting arm) is routinely maintained and tested for reliability.
I have taken apart & built many ARs, so appreciate the the linear simplicity of that platform. The benelli inertia drive is even simpler. I’ve had all my pump action shotguns apart. Modern semi-auto pistols of the “Glock type” are also fairly easy to disassemble/reassemble.
Revolvers have a bit more going on in a very small space.
