I just realized they have the entire archive on Stewart online. Here is the very first one. I imagine he was nervous as hell:

And his first interview, with Michael J. Fox. Man, after watching this entire episode, the format of the old show sucked - but even then he was good with the interview.

Wow, he's getting old. ... that reminds me, i forgot to watch last night.

If I hear "crony" capitalism one more time I'm going to be ill. Capitalism is capitalism, dog eats dog and one dog ends up on top, and he defends that place with all the power he's accumulated.

I was completely agitated when he replaced Craig what's-his-name. Now- I can't even remember that first guy's name.

Puffing up is no substitute for smarts but it's a common home remedy
