Greetings! I just discovered you tonight. Thank God (whether he exists or not) for a liberal gun forum! I grew up in the South in a politically and religiously conservative home with a retired military father who belonged to the NRA and the John Birch Society. However, once I started to think for myself I rejected all of his beliefs and politics except one--and that was the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms and the general love for target shooting.
I have owned guns for about 40 years, or since age twelve. Now that I am a raving liberal adult, loving guns often makes me feel like a misfit. I had never used gun forums until recently when I decided to check some out, looking for some information. All of the major forums that popped up in a google search turned out to be populated, not surprisingly, by extreme right-wingers. I told myself I was going to look for the information I needed and ignore the politics. But then I couldn't resist peeking at their political chat and was so creeped out that I immediately left and deleted the links I had saved. Personally I don't go around thinking conservatives are wrong about everything. Even Sarah Palin has one or maybe two good ideas. Heck, even Hitler was right to commission the VW Beetle! But these conservatives are not willing to concede that there is even one good thought that has ever emerged from even slightly to the left and are vicious with their insults. Fortunately for them they have no members that disagree with their delusions. They also fancy themselves to be Christians (meaning they believe in Reagan and a literal interpretation of the Bible). They assume anyone with a gun will naturally agree with all this. Very creepy. So glad to now find sensible people discussing guns.

8Having fun in the sense, comming up with a comical, yet accurate description. And at the same time very serious about the supporting argument. I agree in your "sense" I think, there should be no discussion about such time consuming waste of obsenity.Inquisitor wrote:I am not having any fun when I am talking about Palin.

Well it defnitely does not mean "aim at those on the left"
It means "aim your politics & moral compass to the left."
